Everybody meet Yukki!

Pronounced- U-key. It means snow in Japanese

I am adopting this handsome boy on the 8th of August after I found him on PetFinder . He's a seven months old flame point siamese. I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him.

I can't wait to bring this boy home!

He's very very handsome. But... pssst... Yuki is the word for snow, and pronounced differently than yukki. yoo-key vs. yook-key.

sorry for the tiny nitpick, I studied japanese for 3 years. XD

Anyways, back to the kitty... I love flame points! Best color pattern ever! The *only* way your boyo could be more attractive is to add some longer fur. :p

*steals him from you*

*eep* thank you for that correction! Goes to show you what an Italian knows about Japanese.

No stealing my kitty from me!

Don't worry, I'll be snap happy with my camera once he is home.

I'm a little worried though, the guy I am getting him from is being a little...overbearing? If that's the right word.

He wants to come with me to the vet when I get Yuki his shot and check up and I really don't want him there. Don't really know what to say to him? :awcrap:

I miss my flame point! :crying:

He was a perfect mixture of independence, affection, and laidbackness. They can get kind of noisy though!

My flame point was more of a traditional "apple head", yours looks closer to the "newer" skinny Siamese look that has emerged from selective breeding.

Congrats on the new kitty!

I have a blue-point Siamese, and she is the best cat in the world.

However, Siamese cats love to "talk", but I think its adorable....plus the seem to let you know when the want something. Like in the case of my Siamese, she cries and freaks out when she wants FRESH COLD water (yeah she is a little spoiled)

Enjoy your new kitty!

Thanks everybody! I have a seal-point siamese at my home here in Truckee, so I am well aware of the talk factor.

I just don't know what to do about Yuki's current owner, it's like he's extremely reluctant to part with him, which I can understand, but he needs to.

Not to mention I don't want a 63 year old man following me around.

Maybe you can try and explain to him that it would be better for the cat if he said his goodbyes as soon as possible. Try to convince him that it might confuse the cat if both of you go to the vet together.

It might work:shrugs:

Gah! This guy is driving me INSANE!

He said he must be mirco-chipped and wouldn't talk about it otherwise. Then he said he wanted to come with me to the vet.

I simply said, I would get him chipped, but I could not do it immediately. I'm a college student and on a budget. Then he said he wanted to come with me to the vet to be chipped. I flat out said I am extremely uncomfortable with that. I have had a very bad history with me, and it is a huge issue with me and I'm still dealing with it.

I said that I hope that didn't change his choice about giving Yuki to and if it did, I was dissapointed.

Am I wrong?

I'm discussing that with him right now. I've raised my cat for 14 years. I don't need this guy looking over my shoulder.

I do need some elder advise here. : (

I can see how he would want to make sure you are gonna be a good new owner. But his involvement has to end at some point. If he is not understanding about that, then this may not be the best opportunity.

I know. I just fell in love with this cat.

He never discussed me paying for his shot or anything about micro-chipping in our other discussions about Yuki. So how am I expected to be able to drop everything, meet him and take Yuki to the vet just because he is being OCD...IMO.
