i was lookin around and saw one of these for sale im not thinking of getting it or anything but i was curious are these actually venemous i looked it up some places said they were i assumed they were since it is a cobra and all and how big do these things usually grow

Well, these guys can get up to 10 feet and are colubrids. They do have venom but probably close to that of a hognose. But if you are 18 I would wait a few more years before getting some thing like this due to the nature of being 18. You are in a transition period of your life. Wait a few more years until you settle down and can have a place of your own.
Many cities are having laws about snakes as these and you just have to be careful. If you are in an apartment and get evicted, that can follow you around for years.

If you want a cool large snake go with a Black Milk or even a Cribo.

These are great snakes but not the best for a beginner. (dont know your history... just stating.) I have kept these for a few years and even some "more venomous" rear fanged snakes for a few years also. I have never been bit by any of my rear fanged snakesand am not about to go out and see what it is like.
The venom in a FWC is said to be like a crotalus atrox (western d-back) but a FWC can only carry about 10% of what is required to kill a person. From what I have researched; a FWC carries about 10 mg of venom while a WDB can carry up to 110mg's of venom... yeah, lots!
Another thing to look at is that a FWC has a poor delivery system and does not have true fangs. They have enlarger rear teeth that when they puncture the skin, the venom is able to run down the teeth into the skin; similar to a gila monster. <(obviously alot more poten in a gila though).
If a person is worried about envenomations, they can wear light gloves and a long sleeve to protect them. The teeth may puncture the skin still but the cloth will be able to catch the venom before it travels through the skin.
