Are Corn snakes your favourite type of snake and if so, why? What makes these little guys fascinating to you over all of the other species?
 
I love my corns but I love my ball pythons as well. I dont know that I like one more then the other.I love the activity level of my corns and the easy care. All the different morphs are a plus too.I also love boas to a certain degree, although they get big and a bit scary.
 
I only own corn snakes, but for me it's their gentle disposition and the extremely wide range of morphs. I have been around Boa's a few times, and found them sweet as can be if they were handled properly when they were being raised.

I wish more then anything that I could have a ball Python. They are illegal in the province that I live in.

I LOVE red tailed boas, but they are also illegal where I live. I really enjoy African house snakes as well!
 
I have no problem with other snakes, but I've never been interested in owning anything other than corns. I'm used to how corns' faces look and most other captive species look sort of ugly or wrong now. Corns are really cute.

What province is that? We have one of the most restrictive reptile by-laws in the country in my city, and even we can have ball pythons, that's crazy!
 
I love the size, temperament and activity level of corns. Plus they come in such varied colors. I have to agree with the face shape comment. I just don't like the look of kings and milks.
 
I love snakes but only have time and space for one. After a lot of research I settled on a corn because of their size, food and housing needs. Funny but even my normal corn gets so many compliments from those of my friends that aren't afraid of snakes. I think my baby corn is totally fascinating and I love him so much. I just had another "such a pretty pattern" comment yesterday from a friend, too. I agree they are beautiful. So for me corns definitely are my favorite, but I like hearing about and seeing pics of other snakes.
 
I love the sweet, inquisitive faces on my corns. That is the first thing that caught my attention. The beautiful color and the great dispositions came right after. I still get sidelined by a close up of a sweet little corn face.
 
Normal corns are beautiful. If their colours were a new morph, instead of the other way around, people would be desperate for them!
 
I just love corns, perfect size, hardy, awesome temperaments.. I just love the breed. Soon getting a boa, but that is A boa, and will only be A boa.. a friend got a litter and one is blind on one eye so I get it as a pet as most people would try to breed them (the genetics in these snakes are value of 1500 dollars about) and he doesn't want to risk that someone breeds and risk a genetic trait just to earn money on people. Might just been something happening in the uterus but..

other than that.. corns corns corns!!
 
We own 15 different species of snakes and I couldn't say that I have a favorite or even 5, just because I love different things equally about them all. Some are puppy dog tame and others will try and take your face off but I love them all.

My experience is that corns are more likely to bite then balls. Ive been bitten by corns many times and only bitten by a ball once and that was a stupid feeding error.
Right now I have 4 corns and one insists on biting me every time I pick him up.Albeit he is very young and makes me laugh.
 
I love my little corn snakes, but if I absolutely had to pick a favorite in my collection it would be my reticulated pythons. The intelligence, the brutal feed response and the awesome personalities just can't be matched. Don't get wrong I love ally snakes and I spend A LOT of time holding my corn snakes, but there's just something about retics I can't explain

Size, color, and temperament. Not just corns though. I hope some day to keep yellow, Everglades, and black rat snakes. Maybe if I'm lucky even some great Plains and northern green rats. Just such a great group of snakes.
 
Our little corn, Nightmare is the first snake we've ever owned, but I have always loved snakes. I first fell in love with them as a little girl, when we had a garter snake that would hang out in our garden. Later on, I lived in an apartment near a field that had so many grass snakes, they would sometimes slip into our building! My mom would yell for me, and I would have to catch one from the hallway and put it back outside. I would find those snakes, and just hold them for hours. In Texas, my grandparents had a neighbor who would catch rattle snakes. I would go to his house, and he would show me how they struck, and how he used his hook to handle them. I found many snakes out there, but never caught them because I couldn't be sure they weren't poisonous.
When I decided to get a pet snake for my boys, I was so excited, but I had no idea what kind to buy. At first, I was leaning toward a California king snake, because I liked the way they looked, and I new they were fairly common and easy to get. Then I saw a little corn snake in the pet store and asked if we could hold it. My boys and I just loved it. I went home and began reading about corn snakes, and I realized I had found our snake. Having never owned a snake before, I chose the corn snake because of what I read about them being easy to feed and care for, and also because of the wide array of color choices. I would consider owning another type of snake in the future, as I have always found them fascinating, and I love all snakes, but Nightmare has been such an amazing little guy, especially since we got him as a tiny baby, and have been watching him grow. I think corn snakes will always be my favorite now, because there is something special about your first snake. I am so glad we have him, and we all just love him to death! He is precious.
 
BOAS!! Awesome temperament. Calm and confident when handled; they're not flighty like many small snakes, nor are they pet rocks like most Beepers. Large enough to be impressive in size, yet not so large that they can't be handled solo. Perhaps not as many morphs as corns or BP's, but still a ton to choose from. No messing with eggs. And finally, they have the best mustaches EVER.

My second fav would be burms. I love burms; although I only have a half-dwarf male. He's just about 5' and turns one next week. He has an amazing personality; loves being handled. I think an albino green burm might just be the prettiest snake in the world.
