I've got one who twitches like he's being tickled if touched when his skin is new. I usually give him a day to get comfortable in his new skin before feeding. The others are fed on shed day, assuming they're due. I don't feed if the snake is close to shedding. Many will refuse then, which isn't a problem, but some will eat and then regurge. I had a butter female who pulled that one on me twice. She was VERY early in the cloudy phase, and I missed it with her light coloration. As Dave said, they're all individuals. You'll get a feel for what works for yours.
