feeding after shedding

Before, during, after... feed it. :D If it won't eat at any certain stage, make a note of it and don't do it next time. Each snake is an individual.

I've got one who twitches like he's being tickled if touched when his skin is new. I usually give him a day to get comfortable in his new skin before feeding. The others are fed on shed day, assuming they're due. I don't feed if the snake is close to shedding. Many will refuse then, which isn't a problem, but some will eat and then regurge. I had a butter female who pulled that one on me twice. She was VERY early in the cloudy phase, and I missed it with her light coloration. As Dave said, they're all individuals. You'll get a feel for what works for yours.

test the waters... i haven't had any feeding issues post shed, but i do get some refusals prior to shed..

Thnx a mil.. Tried to feed him and he ate.. He ate two actually.. One thrown into
the feeding box, the other accidentally dropped in. Didn't even had a chance to take it out before he claimed it with his mouth!!

Last week, Chai was still hanging on to his old skin on feeding day, but he's a hungry little guy so I decided to give him a big pinky instead of a fuzzy. He ate the pinky and then shed his skin right there in the box!
