My snake is due to eat tonight,but she is looking like she is about to shed.I should wait till she sheds,or just give it a try ??.
 
It never hurts to give it a try. Sometimes my corns eat in shed, sometimes they don't. If he doesn't eat then you can just feed him after he sheds.
 
I was just thinking that if she eats,then sheds within hours of the meal,,what would I do if she needed a little help with an incomplete shed.I wouldn't want to stress or agitate her,,might cause a regurg,,no what I'm talking about ?.

just plan on feeding anyway, if she eats, she eats. most will eat even through the blue stage and if she doesn't try again a few days after the shed. if she does eat tonight, sheds in the next day or two and needs some help, a few extra days after the shed will not hurt. just make sure that your humidity is a tad higher right now to help prevent any possible shed problems.

I used to go ahead and offer food when they were in blue, but a few months back my 05 female ate a rat pup when in blue and promptly regurged it back up later that night.

She's fine now and I don't really know what caused the regurge, other than the fact she was in a shed cycle.
 
How long has she been in shed for? If you've been checking on her pretty regularly and this is the first time you've notice it chances are she won't shed for a week. The cycle seems to go dull skin, very blue eyes, dull skin with clear eyes, then shed.
It takes about three days for a snake to fully digest a meal. Unless you've been waiting for the snake to shed for about a week and it hasn't shed yet, it probably won't shed within the next three days.

I say go ahead and feed her. I feed my snakes on schedule regardless if they're in shed or not because I've never had a problem with refusal. I've also never had a problem with incomplete sheds. Good luck!
 
OK,,I guess I'll give it a shot.When I said "incomplete shed",I was talking about small pieces,,or a tail section still intact.This happened with her last shed,,a few small section on her belly and about an inch of tail.
Not sure what happen,could chalk it up to a slightly low humidity,(48%).
This will be her 3rd shed since I bought her back in September.First shed was perfect,,but with both sheds,I didn't even notice too much difference in the snakes color or eyes.Just looked in the tank in the morning, and there it was.
This time,,she is very pale(amel)and her eyes are all milky looking,,plus she has been staying out of sight.She seems to like getting under her rock cave hide(cool side),rather than in it.It does have a bunch of dry spangma(sp)moss still in it,so I'm thinking she doesn't like it.

Learned something new.Thanks guys.Feed her Sat.morning,which went fine,,and she shed Sun. night. :)
Shed came off pretty good.No "left overs",,but it was in 3 pieces..
 
Hey man. I was the one who posted a very similar thread last week in here. I took the advice of all those who answered me as well and went ahead and tried to feed. Raydin jumped at the opportunity and even though he had just finished blue he still ate both fuzzies in the same amount of time as usual. Didn't seem to be in any discomfort. The shed was two days later and was a full shed with no problems. So it really does just depend on the snake and the personality of it. So it looks like we both got lucky and just have those kind of snakes that when they are hungry... they are HUNGRY! lol. I guess it's good in a way because we never have to worry about them eating now. Good deal w/ your snake you got there. LAter man.
