Female making spitting noise

My eldest, Bella, has recently been making a "spitting" noise. I noticed it first when I put her in the feeding tub and it sounds like she was spitting. She started making that noise again today while my girlfriend was holding her. She doesn't seem agitated or aggressive when making the noise. Is it possible that she is just getting excited and making this noise, or what?

It could be a respiratory infection. Does she have any mucous in her mouth or nose? (Blowing bubbles out the nose, excess saliva from the mouth?)
Is she still eating ok?
It might be a good idea to get her to a vet to be checked for a RI.

Another possibility, is she possibly going into shed? Sometimes the shed skin in the nostrils makes a popping sound when they breathe, before they go into shed.

She doesn't have any extra mucous in her mouth or nose, and she has been eating fine, it is possible that she might be shedding soon because my girlfriend said she saw some loose skin on her head between her eyes and nose.

Mine has done that before a few days before going into shed. I think his eyes had cleared at that point. Someone explained to me that it could be the loosening skin puffing out upon exhalation. Maybe that could be it?

Just a Thought.... The Bedding you use...Is it aspen?? and is it Dusty coming out of the package?
