I need all the help I can get with this lass if shes going to get turned round quickly. Whats the method Nanci, I'm very interested :)
 
We heard this at Daytona from the guy I bought Noah from, in reference to getting grayband, etc. hatchlings to eat, and then heard it again from Dave (DAND). They call it "slap your snake up." You hold the baby right behind the head, so it can't turn away, and tap it on the nose with the pink till it gets annoyed enough to open its mouth, at which point you pop the pink in. It's slightly different from the method where you tap the snake's body with the pink in hopes it will strike, because you are forcing the baby to just stay there, and they apparently a lot of times will bite to defend themselves. I _also_ read of this method when I got home, on a caresheet for Rosy Boas, discussing the rare non-feeding baby.

Oh thats worked for me in the past. But it won't with these babies. The okees are just too timid and scared and miss Fetish just bites and lets go instantly, or bites, holds on and spits out.

Janine, they have been offered live by the breeder, no luck.

If you didn't live so far away, I'd beg... Haha. But, my mom is from Glasgow. I know that doesn't bear much relevance to your little baby, but I thought it was kind of neat. :D

Thats been my issue this year too. They latch on, and then spit it out. I've noticed that they normally spit it back out the second I move to put the top back on their feeding bin.

I finally got the fussy ones to eat brained f/t pinks by standing stone still, and I mean absolutely stone still until they have that pink down. Whatever position I am in when they take the pink is the position I stay in. Its made for a ton of achy muscles, but it works. I even had one girl that was on my counter and slowly inched herself up the side of the feeding bin. Apparently gravity surprised her because she jerked and fell to the ground, but she didn't drop it! Instead of picking her up, I just let her eat the pink of the kitchen floor lol!
 
I think now I know HOW they want to eat, I will be able to get them to take WHAT they want to eat. It's like snake psychology LOL
 
she has gorgeous colours a very beautiful snake and kinks should'nt make a difference on such a beauty hope she feeds soon for u good luck.
 
Nope, shes having none of it. I have assist fed her 2 meals now and she has pooped both them out. I just want her to gain a wee bit of weight before I will probably have to starve her again. I'll do 5 assist feeds max then try her own her own with as many methods as possible. If she doesn't eat, then she simply isn't meant to live...
 
Well I hope she starts to eat own her own. If she doesn't atleast she had a caring person like you who to give her a chance. Good Luck.

Have you tried tuna juice sented pinkies I tried everything but force feeding two none feeders i had in my first clutch ever this year from brained- live. Someone I know sujested trying tuna sented pinks and the first try both took the pinky I just left it with them over night when I got up they had both ate. They had gone 5-6 weeks with nothing in them so I was supper happy to get something in them. They didn't take the last meal but turned out to be in blue.
 
You said that you have lots of people who want her. . . and only one person can have her, I see her as like a prize. . . i dont know, it makes more sense in my head. . . :D

Very true. When I got my kinked Normal I didn't think he'd make it but after a bit he started eating like a champ and has grown a lot, but she has more kinks then mine does. If she doesn't want to eat then kindest thing to do is not to prolong her life, even though it's sad to do but it's better then her having a poor quality of life or starving. I'm still hoping she eats for you though.

If she was eating she would be perfectly fine! But I'm wondering whats the point in force feeding a seriously kinked snake and for how long do I have to do it? I give her a month to start eating on her own...
