Finally Caved and Made a Picture Thread x]

She's beautiful!! Should of named her Mrs doubtfire...Haha. jk. Lestat and sonya are beautiful names.

Haha thanks!

Sonya finished shedding yesterday and I worked up the courage to do outdoor photos today ;) Up until today, I've been too scared to do outdoor photos because I was so scared that I'd lose her haha So this morning I kept her tail end in my hand, but let the rest of her explore trees which she seemed to REALLY enjoy. Today was the first time that she tried to climb up my arm while I was trying to put her back in her viv, usually she'll just go in willingly. She must've really enjoyed outside. Although, as seen in the first pic, she was a little grumpy when we first got out there :p

She is growing like a weed. I really think she looks big for her age, but I have no idea. I'm not sure how old she is, but she was 11 inches long when I got her on July 8th, so I'm guessing that she was born in June. She was a tiny tiny little worm! She's now currently 18 inches long. She's growing about an inch per week! Anyone else know how much their babies grew per week when they were around this age?

Ok on to the photos!
Photo 1: slightly grumpy haha I guess I wouldn't like to be carried outside and have a camera shoved in my face after just waking up either haha
Photo 2: oh how I wish her face hadn't blurred! again, not too thrilled about the camera being there haha she wasn't feeling comfortable outside yet
Photo 3: realizing that exploring outside isn't such a scary thing afterall
Photo 4: I love how she looks in sunlight :) ALMOST got another tongue shot ;)
Photo 5: had to get some leaves in the pic too haha

Looks very similar to my girl! except I think the eyes on yours are a proper light grey, for a ghost. Mine has much darker eyes, and she's turning greyish purple with peachy colours... I'm thinking users here misjudged mine when she was yours' size, they thought she was a ghost too, but I just felt that that wasn't right... and now I'm strongly thinking lavender because of all the colours in her scales and as I said before a purple and peach tint in her scales... she looks grey in warm light where I took the pictures so I can understand why people thought ghost for my girl... I just wouldn't assume anything yet on your girl's breed/morph because they do change a lot as they get older.

I'd say she's a very pretty girl you have, and you should wait till she's 2 or 3 before making a final judgement on her morph :)

Thank you for your input! :) Your girl looks very pretty as well! Sonya used to have purple and peach tints to her but those seem to be gone now and replaced with a hazelnut one. Seems like our snakes are working backwards of each other (colour-wise that is haha). I love seeing hatchling vs adult photos in especially ghost corns because they look nothing like each other! I'm so excited to see how she finally turns out! Only about 2/3 years of impatient waiting to go! hahaha

As for yours looking different in warm light, I know exactly what you mean. Depending on what room of the house I'm in, flash on cameras (which I never use really for my snake because it washes her out too much), and sunlight, my girl always looks different haha I like sunlight photos because it seems to bring out their "true" colours more in my opinion :)

One thing I've noticed is that she always looks way bigger in photos than she actually is... same thing when I take photos of my dogs. Maybe its just the camera I use or maybe how close I get to them haha

Haha, who knows why they look the size they do... all I know is when I take mine out she's all tiny on my hand then I put her on the bed and she stretches out... and it's all "damn you've gotten big o.o;"

I much prefer the natural light look on mine, there's just such a variety of colours even within 2 or 3 scales, dark purples to light peach to a silvery light purple sheen on the lower saddles... I definitely think whatever our girls are they're one of the prettier morphs for sure ;)

We'll just have to see what happens for a final colouration in 2 years :)

Well, Sonya hasn't shed, but I added some more vines and leaves to her viv so thought I'd post a pic of that. I managed to snap one pic of her investigating them (sorry the flash made her eyes blue, shes NOT in blue lol) but as soon as the flash went off she zipped right back into one of her hides. I'm sure she'll be out for some night time investigating while I'm asleep lol

oooh lovely setup! mine just has a lot of hides XD I should get some artificial plants or something to pretty it up XD

I love the face they make, it's all "Oh... hi there o.o whatcha doing in mah lair?"

Thanks! I love having lots of artificial plants and such in her viv. It makes my living room look more relaxing haha

Well I measured Sonya last night (in her clear stage after being in blue several days) and she's up to 21 inches now! she was only about 11" when I got her back in July, so she's definitely growing like a weed! I woke up this morning to find she's shed again. such a lovely complete shed too...

she's definitely getting yellow on her now :) at first I didn't like it, but as she's getting more and more, I'm starting to think its very pretty :)

it even goes all the way up to her little pink cheeks

I just love her little blue eyes!!! (I guess they're more of a gray, but I'm going to say steel blue :p)

a shot with her yellow AND her eyes :)

Thanks for looking!

wait so how old is she? 11 inches in july?? :O mine was bigger in january than that, about 12 inches... now she's 24... though, I must say yours looks JUST like mine! down to the dark grey/blue eyes! <3 so pretty!

I don't know for sure... but I'm guessing under 6 months? Honestly when I bought her back on July 8th, I was thinking that she was maybe a month or so old just because she was so itty bitty (11" inches and very thin) and very flighty, like a baby. So, from how small she was and her personality when I got her, I'd like to think she was born in possibly very early June/mid August? But, honestly, that's purely a guess. I didn't ask when I bought her (from Petsmart) and so I really don't know.

I fed her one pinkie every 5 days for the first month I had her, then the last 2 months she's been eating one fuzzy every 5 days. Honestly the fuzzies aren't leaving a lump at all anymore, so I tried to bump her up to hoppers two feedings ago, but she didn't eat it (I'm assuming it was too big) so I'm going to keep her on one fuzzy every 5 days for another 3 or 4 weeks and then try a hopper again. Once she's on hoppers, I'll probably go to one hopper every 7 days because I don't want to make her fat lol then once she's on adult mice, I think I'll go every 10 days and leave it at one appropriately sized adult mouse every 10 days for life :) that is, of course, once she's big enough to handle an adult mouse :) gotta get through hoppers and weanlings first! :)

ahhh she grew so fast because you're feeding her more than I was XD I was doing double pinks before fuzzies, and now double fuzzies :) only once a week though.

I'd like to think she was born in possibly very early June/mid August

wait... i meant mid-may/early june hahaha wow I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that earlier haha

and that makes sense about why she's grown faster than yours! :) I love the fact that they look so similar to each other :)

She just shed, but I only snapped one very blurry photo haha I just want to show how big my little girl is getting =] she's about 26" long and about as thick as a quarter or so =] she has actually ate a small adult mouse now at her last two feedings =] I've extended her feedings to once every 7 days instead of every 5 since she's on adult mice now. Once she hits a year old in the summer, I'll probably feed her every 10 days.

wow she's grown fast....

mine's 28 inches, but she's a year and i've been feeding her double fuzzies for a while o.o i'm moving to hoppers soon but i want to finish off these fuzzies first

She is very pretty! I have a coral ghost and I love his colors. I love them all I think! Except for some reason I don't like the snows & blizzard super light colors.

She is indeed growing fast! I bought a yearling recently who had been eating weanlings and I gave her her first adult mouse. She gained 20gm that week! Ate again last night so I can see they do start growing much faster as they eat larger prey.
