FINALLY got her done! :)

Now that is a nice set of wheels. Black all round is such a classy look. Bet you that has a bit of grunt over a 1/2 mile as well. :D

I've got this tucked away in the garage at the moment. (It's not the daily drive either)

It's in reasonable condition, had a fair bit done already, needs a bit of bodywork doing at the front end mainly, the tinworm has got to the seams in the front panel since those pictures were taken.

Don't think you guys get a vast number of 'em over in the States. It'd take your muscle cars round the twisty stuff every time ..... ;)

:roflmao: Actually... yes! I made a big fuss about it because I never really see anyone keep an 8 track in a resto project. :grin01: I own one 8 track... Charlie Daniels Band. You can only listen to "Devil Went Down To Georgia" so many times! After it hits about 2500 rpms, I can't hear it anyways though. I'll probably do a little tweaking in the audio aspect somewhere down the line and throw something a little more modern in there.

Colin thats a beauty! Nice to see some of the older ones. :) Oh trust me, those things will leave my mopar in the dust when it comes to turns and winds. That thing is a beast. But we could always hit up the 1/4 mile afterwards... :)

Maybe even a 'Cuda with a split rear window, yeah, that'd be nice.
 
Someday I'm going to restore a 41 Dodge truck. I just love the look of the front ends on those things. I have a lot of someday projects......

My uncle had a 1970 S W 31 Olds that was a rocket! It would wheelie stock!
Quick quick quick. And would blow away a bloody mini! Alas, he sold it and it was given to a teenager who thrashed the crap out of it and is now junked I am sure! (((moment of silence))) Now, I drive a gutless pile o pickup! My honda oddy is way faster than my truck!

I have no idea what a 1970 SW 31 Olds is other than I imagine it's some sort of Oldsmobile.

In a straight-line drag race, an awful lot of cars would blow away most mini's (dunno about some of the hyabusa or v-tec conversions. On 0-60 times, some of those are on Ferrari performance levels.). But, lets face it, most of your big 'ol yank-tanks handle like driving a waterbed. Find a twisty back road over here in Scotland and the mini will fly round the bends while you're still trying to drive your way out of the first ditch you under-steered into .... ;)

Same story in any Italian city centre. ;)

You're right about that Colin. "Waterbed" is a good analogy! lol Although I think its more of a bumpy ride than a wavy ride :grin01: Yeah you guys do have a lot of windy roads up there! I went to visit my grandparents in Aviemore last year. There's not much for roads up there, but man did Papa's little bug go flying around those tight corners!

I happen to prefer yours over a new mini anyday Colin :rolleyes: But if we're talking small cars, then give me a good VW Bug or a Thing.

Who else has some classics around here? Lets see some more! We'll make it a "Classic" thread! :)

Oh yes, without a shadow of a doubt. The 'proper' mini is a far nicer car. :)

However, I can't go too heavy on the newer versions .... my daily drive is a new style 2.0 VW Beetle. :rolleyes:
 
Lol jynx, I should've added a :rolleyes:, your cars really nice, but I think minis rock. I see a couple a day on my way to work, and they've both in great condition looking really nice. I would also like to see more nice cars appear in this thread, maybe some bangers aswell.

How can you expect to be taken seriously when most of your automobiles will fit in the bed of my truck???? We actually were able to lift this one off the ground with minimal effort! :rolleyes:

LMAO! Isn't that the car Urkel had??? lol I actually put my ex's bug in the back of my old Dodge truck once when it broke down while we were camping. Took about 10 of us to get it there, but fit like a glove! Kind of handy... no need for a dolly.

Ya know, I thought about turnin' it into that, but the General was a 69. Just didn't look right. Besides, I think she looks pretty good in black. :D

Come on who else has a "baby"...? I know there's someone out there! Where's Cooter? I'll betcha he probably has a General Lee station wagon sittin' in his backyard! (hee hee... jk Cooter... right? :grin01: )
