Hello all, my name is Christina. I'm not exactly new here, but I decided to finally take the time and write a little intro about myself. I bought my first cornsnake in July and am currently the proud owner of 27 beautiful babies! Talk about an obsession, I've absolutely got one!! With the exception of 3 all are 08 babies, 2 07's and 1 06. I remember reading a thread Kathy Love had written a while back about newbies and there mainly being 2 types - the first type buys a cornsnake and gets rid of it or it dies within a year, the other buys their first cornsnake and within a month or two adds numerous more too their collection and they just can't stop, they are HOOKED!! That sums it up, that is me to a T!
Luckily I have a wonderful husband that doesn't exactly share my love and interest in learning about new found hobby, but he is always more than willing to build me anything I need for them. To date he has built me 4 beautiful enclosures each of them equivalent to the size of a 40 gallon breeder tank and they are stackable!! Plus about a little over a month ago he finished a multi-unit enclosure with 16 separate units. I also have two beautiful children, 4 and 5, that share my love and interest! So all in all, we are one big, huge family that also includes 2 dogs, a cat, some fish, and 2 horses!!
When I bought my first cornsnake in July, Charlie - an Amel partial Aztec, I had absolutely no plans on breeding, but the more I researched the more I wanted to learn about all the incredible morphs. My daughter is now telling everyone she wants to go to school to become a geneticist!
This forum has helped me tremendously! I have learned so much more here than I have from reading all of my books combined. There are so many knowledgeable people on here willing to share their experiences with you that it would be a shame not to take advantage. I absolutely love this place!! I have already met numerous people that I consider to be exemplary examples of the type of community member I want to be, not to mention, the quality of cornsnakes that they produce and the huge impact that they have on the entire cornsnake community. I feel very lucky to be a part of this community and be able to communicate with such great people such as yourselves!
Happy Holidays and Semper Fi!!!
