First Pippies of the Year!

JoannaD

Formerly known as jodu
Finally on day 67 my first clutch has pipped. This clutch should be fun, hypo/strawberry anery motley male X hypo/strawberry amel het anery.

So I could get hypos, strawberries, hypo/strawberries, ghosts, strawberry aneries, hypo/strawberry aneries... And now that I have pippies the male has proven to be het amel so I could get hypo amels and snows, strawberry amels and snows and hypo/strawberry amels and snows. I just have no idea how I am going to tell the hypos from the strawberries from the hypo/strawberries!

I hope the female turns out to be het motley!

I can't wait to see them when they are out!! Is there a hyper-macro method to tell the two apart?

Thanks guys. The first one out is a motley so I am super thrilled my girl is het motley!!

The beauty of this pairing besides all the possible hets being proven out is that all the babies are het amel, anery, motley (if they are not homo for the trait). Now to figure our if they are straight up hypos, hypo/strawberries or strawberries!

Nanci I think there is a way to tell under the microscope but I don't have one and am not sure I understand how to see the difference. I am obviously going to have to invest in some sort of set up and get help with the photos.

Here are the first two: hypo or hypo strawberry or strawberry motley and
hypo or hypo strawberry or strawberry amel motley

Joanna I know Kevin Saunders has done some id'ing of different stuff using a usb microscope, I think Mitchell Mulks has too. Charles Pritzel's morph guide goes into detail about it also...Great looking kids, would love to see the parents :)

I'll see if they look any different after shedding.

All hatched out, 4 snow motleys, 2 snows, 1 amel mot, 1 amel, 2 anery mots, 3 aneries, 2 motleys, and 1 "just" hypo...

Here's Dad hypo strawberry anery motley het .

I did this with my iPhone under a fluorescent light so not thrilled with the colors. He's a little pinker and so is her ground color.
