First Showing of Tootse - '06 Amel Enjoying A Meal

Well, I know I'm long overdue on pictures of my little gal so it's more of an introduction/multiple picture thread/status update. Hope it doesn't get too boring.

I named her Tootse - pronounced like a Tootsie-Roll, but without the double/long 'e' sound at the end.

She's an '06, described to me as a 'Yearling'. Not sure of her exact age, but she's just a tad shy of 24" and she weighs 38 grams. This seems really light to me - am I correct in that assumption?

I've had her for just about a month now. She's eaten successfully 6 times now (On a 5 day feeding schedule), and boy can she eat! I've never had a King, but from y'all's description, she eats like one of them. Pounds the F/T fuzzies. I'm thinking of moving her to twice a week feedings since I'm afraid she's a tad light and at the speed she eats, she 'seems' underfed to me.

Anyway...pictures!

How's she look? Sorry all I have are feeding pictures, but dang she's an active little booger when I'm holding her. All you fine folks that take amazing hand pictures have earned my respect! I found it to be damn near impossible with her...

On another note, she shed for the first time on April 11th! It was a perfect shed, resplendent with both eye caps and the very tip of her tail. I'm so proud!

Lastly, a while back I posted a picture of my enclosure, and with advice from a few members, I added more cover. She now has four hides, a water bowl, a climbing branch, and a 6' vine for cover. I still never see her during the day, but she does come out at night when everyone's asleep.

Sorry for making it so long but I was overdue for pictures, I'm sure. All in all so far she's been a storybook Corn. Perfect eater, perfect temperament, perfect shed.

I'm in love, can't you tell? :D

Thanks for looking!

nice snake, yes, she's skinny, but i have a male thats over 3 feet, and he's been skinny his whole life, he's probably under 100 grams..

Oh jeezy, those are some nice colors. I love that viv too (well I say that to all because they're better than mine) You have to give us updates, and before and after shots. I have a feeling there are going to be big changes in her.

She looks OK to me. I don't think she is "unhealthily skinny", but a tad underweight. You could put her on a four day feeding schedule for a month or two to bulk her up, if you wanted.

Otherwise she is a very pretty little girl, and you've done a real nice job with her viv.

I'd agree with Chris (tyflier) that a four-day feeding schedule might be a good bet.

She looks like a great little girl!

Tootse is beautiful! If she is a yearling her previous owner must have had her on quite a modest feeding schedule. She'd have to have been an early '06 to be a yearling already. She looks fine, although I'd bump her up larger fuzzys and hoppers as soon as possible. She looks like she can handle a larger sized prey item. Keep going with the pictures!
