Hey guys ,
Thanks to my friend Putty I went to a reptile expo and ended up buying a baby male hypo :D and hes really nice looking. Its my first snake and i havent stopped looking at him since i got him :D Hes a little tense thought since hes in a new home and all and a bit nervous and shy but im sure when he gets more comfortable and we more trusting im sure well have a good friendship. But i got a little problem actually a big problem im having a hard time thinking up a name for him maybe anybody has some ideas ? anyways heres some pics of him i took them from far since i kidda didnt want to scare him but as soon as he comfortable ill put some new ones up :D but hes just really neat and im happy that my buddy Putty kidda got me hooked :p and also thanks to my other friend paul i got him for 50$ instead of 60 so that was also a bonus. Anyways yeah enough of my ranting from being excited from getting him heres a picture. :D

Sweet snake Matt - I can't wait to see how his colors go as he grows, definitly a looker.
 
Congratulations and welcome to the addiction! It's cool that you're doing the right thing for your baby and letting him settle in before you handle him.
 
Sweet Hypo Matt, I'm glad that I led Putty to snakes who led you to Snakes, You'll see soon that one just isn't enough, thats how i ended up with 12 (well 4 snakes and 7 geckos and a beardie, lol).
 
paul your an animal lol :p but yeah hes been in his hide all day in a corner ive had a 40 watt light on him since like my heating pad is broken i think and i have no other way of heating him and like yeah its normal for him to hide out right ? and i should only try handling hima fter a couple of days ?
 
Thats a really pretty snake... It is an addiction when I started this forum I had one snake, Now I have four soon to be seven... Goodluck staying in control...:)
 
Matt, which kind of heatpad is it? did you buy it today? In which way is it broken? Is the corn in a glass terrarium or a plastic tub I strangely cant tell by the pic, lol. Youre gonna want to shut the lights off at night because Corns are nocturnal, but it should be fine unless your house is really cold.

As for the hiding, I bought my corn one of those big exo terra snake hides and he almost is never ever out of it and I've had him since end of January, He pokes his head out alot and strolls to the other side of the tub to do his business. He's huge and eats great, perfectly healthy but isnt really ever out and about when I check on him.

And yea you should wait on the handling thing, give it a week, maybe more cause its real young.

Off topic but do you know if Cotes BP ate tonight?

He's using the small tub I had customized with somewhat half a mesh top on it - the one I posted in pictures earlier in a thread concerning ventilation.

As for the last question; I'll post something in my own thread.
 
yeah hes in a bin and no my house is never cold i die from heat in my house lol but ill try to go look for a heat pad today and thermometer . but yeah apparently from matt says he has Hateling cause i went in today and check up on him and he rattled his tail at me :( but yeah soo i better wait but when should i feed him then if i shouldnt handle him :s
 
When did Renee say he last ate (if you asked)? I'd feed him today or tomorrow honestly since hes just a little guy, munsons plan says to feed pinkies ever 4-5 days till your snakes at 15 grams.
 
oh kk i should feed him ? but like i cant even touch him :S yes how should i put him in another dish to feed him then :S
 
I waited three days to feed my baby, and then just took him out, fed him, and put him back after he'd gotten it in his stomach and started moving around. Then leave him alone for a few more days, and you should be good. =)
