Fishermen? Seen this?

wow. ive caught some big pike and muskies. and helped my uncle pull in a 12 pound walleye. but i have never seen a fish that big come out of the water naturally. not that i say there shouldnt be a world record for a genetically produced fish. but they should also keep the old record as well.

could you imagine cleaning that fish. its guts would contain some nastiness that i would think would resemble medium sized game animal. lol. so they said theyre an infertile animal. but how long ago did these monster fish escape and get into the lake. id like to know how long it takes to get that large.

edit: lol. i guess 9 years ago. as i go reread it.

The fish are real. I remember when the dude's brother caught the other one. There was a HUGE debate amongst fishermen over the legitimacy of a "World Record" that is a genetically engineered fish.

Legitimate record or not...that thing would be fun on a 5wt...

Trout filets, trout nuggets, trout burgers, trout steaks...
"Anyway, like I was sayin', trout is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, trout-kabobs, trout creole, trout gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple trout, lemon trout, coconut trout, pepper trout, trout soup, trout stew, trout salad, trout and potatoes, trout burger, trout sandwich. That- that's about it.". :)

They call them Alpers in the Sierras,I think the largest I caught there was 9 pounds 6 ounces and at a Lake Irvine Cali,it was 10 pound 11 ounces! Here is a link to that lake................http://irvinelake.net/photos2.htm

Alpers aren't "genetically altered"...they are merely hybrids. Tim used several different species of rainbow trout, and ultimately line bred them for size, strength, and voracity.

These monsters are actually genetically altered for superior growth. It would be like gene splicing a corn with a 'conda for growth potential. Problem is...their bodies grow to these immense prportions, but their organs are normal sized. It's worse than the worst possible case of powerfeeding.
