Chlorhexidine, a bottle lasts a while, the dilution is tablespoons to gallons. Before I got that I just used bleach/water solution, real weak, about 5% bleach.

I use F10 disinfectant to clean my tubs and cages. It's 100% safe and all you do is spray it on, leave it for a few minutes and then wipe it off

F10 can also be used to treat RI infections by nebulising the snake/lizard. It's very safe and highly effective

You can also get handwash, wipes etc. F10 can also be used with a nebuliser to treat RI's in snakes. It's 100% safe and VERY effective.

I use a diluted hibiscrub once a month whilst the other half feeds them I completly empty the viv and give it a good spray round and then dry it off with kitchen towel.

As a few people have mentioned, vinegar is great. It is inexpensive and can be purchased anywhere. It is natural and any traces left behind won't hurt your snake. It can dissolve hard water deposits and is great for getting glass squeaky clean, with no spots or streaks. It also has some pretty good disinfectant properties.

I use it a lot around my house as well as with my snakes.

The only issues with it are that it is acidic so you have to be careful what surfaces you use it on, and it has a strong odor. For these 2 reasons I prefer to wipe out the enclosures with a wet paper towel and then allow it to dry & air out thoroughly before putting the snake back in the enclosure.

I usually use a bleach/water solution, liked mentioned above (usually 5% or less).

Not certain if any of you have tried rubbing alcohol, but it has worked for me in the past. You take a spray bottle, and spray it on a paper towel, and clean the viv. This is for complete cleanings, not just weekly touch up.

The snakes are always placed in a different holding container for many hours as any residue of alcohol evaporates.
All of the bedding & furniture is removed and the cleaned separately in the bleach solution mentioned earlier.

I usually use a vinegar/water mixture. About half-and-half of each. I make two batches. One to soak his water bowl and plants in, and another to use for the viv. I use little cardboard boxes for hides and those get pitched every time.
