My sister found this little guy out in the cold and brought him to me (I have BPs) to take care of him for a while. My nephew plans to adopt him when he gets the setup complete. I've had him a couple of weeks now and he has eaten F/T without any hesitation, been easy to handle, and has even shed once. We feel he is someone's escaped pet. I still have a couple of questions before sending him to his forever home.
First of all, can anyone here tell from the picture what "color" he is? From what I've read, I can't decide between albino/amelanistic or possibly creamsicle.
Secondly, what size prey is appropriate for him? He's approximately 2-1/2 feet long and weighs 163 grams. He swallowed pinkies like they were candy, so we bought hoppers next. He ate two of those in one sitting with no problem. Should we get him something a bit bigger?
Last, he shed without warning. Should I have seen the signs that one sees with BPs? I never noticed his eyes any color but orange. If I had known he was about to shed, I would have upped his humidity because he did have a little trouble with the task.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, he's in my old holding tank. I do not use stick-on thermometers...just never peeled them off the glass. He has two hides and one UTH, and he thermoregulates well.
