Found a toad! Plus ransom pictures because I have nothing better to do.

Bababooey
I was outside enjoying a smoke when I spied this fella hopping around in the grass. Not a totally uncommon sight around these parts, but this guy is actually pretty big. Toads are my favorite. I promptly released him once I was done annoying him.

Horrible pictures, I'm a crappy photographer.

Random shots:

The family recently moved from Ontario (the 'mainland') to our ancestral stopping grounds, Newfoundland. The highlight of the trip, if traveling by road, is the 8hour ferry trip across the Cabot Strait between Cape Breton Island and Newfoundland. Yes, the weather was as miserable as it looks.

Waiting on line to board the ferry in Nova Scotia..

A shot of the old man up on deck, looking like a seasoned old skipper.

Waiting on line to get off the ferry in Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland.

Others:
The old fishing hole, where my grandfather taught me to fish many moons ago. It's my happy place, where I go when particularly angry or upset about something or other.

And finally, supper! Believe it or not, a decent meal for one costs less than lunch at Mickey D's around here. About 4 bucks a pound.

I do believe that is an American Toad....... compared to a Fowler's Toad that has multiple warts in each black "spot". It is amazing what little weird factoids you learn in college..... and I said I would never use it in my life... guess I was wrong? lol
