Frozen mice with poo on their fur?

My basic question is this: can snakes get infections from F/T mice that come with mouse feces stuck on their fur?

I used to use a local pet store for mice for Eve and never had any problems, but when I discovered they didn't sell frozen hoppers, I decided to switch to Petco's line of "Gourmet" rodents until she is ready for adult mice at which point I will switch back. But recently, the Gourmet hoppers started coming with little mouse droppings stuck in their fur. I clean them off well every time regardless, I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this? Are there any really dangerous bacterium in mouse droppings? Thank you for any input you may have. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can.

I don't think you have to worry. I don't believe that mammal parasites infect reptiles, but even if they were to, I think being frozen for 14 days kills most parasites, and the mice you buy have been frozen far longer than that :)
I would just do as you are and clean them off before feeding them.

Please remember, there is mouse feces inside the mouse so if the feces inside the mouse does not hurt the snake. The feces outside the mouse should not hurt the snake.

Ohhh okay I see. That's a good point, I didn't quite look at it that way. Thank you all for your responses.

I also like to think of it this way - if the mouse is pooping as it's dying and getting packed you know that sucker was getting fed and cared for enough that it wasn't sitting and waiting forever in a tub to be euthanized! It was digesting food right up to the end ;)

I feed a lot of Gourmet Rodent mice because they are right down the street and the mouse supervisor is really nice. Excellent customer service. But the mice _will_ have the occasional dropping included, as well as a piece of bedding here and there. I've been using these mice for about 80% of my rodent supply for several years and haven't had a problem. If you want perfect mice, The Mouse Factory is the place to go. Rodents on the Road is a close second, and they have really cheap prices.
