funny/cute video, go snakey!

Not really "funny". Poor snake was being harassed by all sorts of birds, and the owner just films it? How about sticking a hand in there are pulling it away, then tossing it back into the grass? Wouldn't have taken much effort at all, and would've been much less cruel.
 
chicks can peck pretty hard, and I'm a full size human! I agree it was a little amusing to watch the snake coil on the chicks leg, but at that point the chick starts really pecking the snake. If it was not removed after the video ended, the snake would not have lived. I hope that was the case, I also hope there was no real damage done by the birds, although a duckling could easily do a lot of internal damage, as they've got quite strong beaks as well.
I guess this video is amusing and cute only as long as you don't think about it. :shrugs
 
yes you're right.

the way i see it, not everyone is a snake lover. to whoever filmed the video, they probably felt no compassion whatsoever towards the snake who was being picked on.

i just thought the ending was cute, though i definitely feel for the poor snake!
 
The snake would have died in this case...if not immediately not long after it escaped. Looks like a redbelly too- don't see enough of them around here! :(
 
Goodness people, so morbid. I feel like I'm in a funeral home here. This is nature. Its not like the person put the snake there for the birds to pick on. A lot more gruesome things happen out in nature every day.

He/she might not have put the snake there, but it was well within their power to simply reach out, take the snake, and put it safely away. It wouldn't have been much of a stretch at all, well within anyone's physical capabilities. It's not something that would've taken them twenty minutes, or even one. Just a simple moment, and this whole fiasco would've been avoided. Instead, they chose to simply film and then post it on YouTube for the giggles and views.
And yes, while a lot more gruesome things happen out in nature everyday, this was happening right in front of someone who had the power to stop it. The bird didn't need to kill that snake, since they were obviously in no danger and most likely had food, so it wasn't like the chick needed to kill the bird to survive.

For lots of (weird) people, the idea of grabbing a snake is terrifying.
 
haha, not only did i feel very badly for the poor snake being picked at, but i hated watching the little chick panic when the snake was trying to constrict his leg. i did not enjoy this video lol! but i admit that it was fascinating
