Gamer Thread

So, the Diable 3 head producer just quit.. they sent the game back to the drawing board - literally and apparently are revamping the game all over again.
I guess it's either late 2012 or, most likely, in 2013.

wow... That's gotta kill a bunch of the fanbase right there...

So I just had to bump this thread! 8D

If anyone can't tell, I'm a HUGE Legend of Zelda nerd/geek/freak/whathaveyou...and specifically Link xP

I like a lot of other adventure games as well (though not nearly as much obsession lol), but my least favorite games would have to be most movie based games (cept some of the LEGO games), puzzle games, and *shudder* turn based RPGs @_@

Aside from Zelda, some of my personal favorites are Okami (even named my dog after Okami Amaterasu xP), Mirror's Edge, The Darkness, Fable II, the first two FEAR games (didn't like the third), American McGee's Alice 1 and 2 (freeeeeaky games!!), and the Elder Scroll Oblivion (not big on Skyrim myself).

:D

Mirror's Edge

I love Mirror's Edge! Love puzzle-ish type games like that.

I've been having a game week extraordinaire! No school so I'm taking advantage. I finally had time to play through Black Mesa (half life 1 mod on Source engine). Which got me in a half life mood so I am now playing through the original half life (Black Mesa ends at lambda core, no Xen as of now). Also lots of TF2 played. I'll probably get some Halo 4 time in tomorrow.

I've even had time to draw this week, including a few video game related. Here is Alduin from Skyrim.

^ Awesome! I'm a bit lame, but I named my Bearded Dragon Alduin (after the game, of course).

I had seen a video for a new Skyrim expansion coming out soon. I saw it a few weeks ago on the Xbox dashboard, and I believe it was called "Dragon Born"?.. All I need to know, there was a character flying around on a dragon.. O-M-Gerd. I was pretty responsible with Skyrim when it first came out, but if they have a dragon-riding expansion, you can officially wipe out the rest of my free time, lol.

I'm also planning on getting Halo 4 soon. I've had to save up for it so I can get both my brother and I a copy at the same time (can't have him feeling left out). But I assume I'll be on that at some point this week. Should be fun.

BTW, For anyone with Xbox live, my gamer-tag is Samo Killmatic. Samo: as in the artist, Basquiat. And Killmatic as in Illmatic (Nas album) with a K (for killing.. in games.). I gave my brother my old profile (xKillmatic), so that he could use all of my saved files. But I'm usually on for at least an hour or so most nights with him.

Right now I mostly just play a Madden game here and there. But I also have really enjoyed playing Civilization Revolution lately. It's not a very popular game, but it's a very fun strategy game. Anyways, if anyone should ever like to play these games, just hit me up.

Yes Mirror's Edge was awesome, but way too short! D:

I just hope that, if they make a sequel, it's as good as the first one was.

I also enjoy the Dead Space series, the first game freaked me out so much the first time I was playing through it I didn't know if I'd ever finish it, lol.

I wanted to play Alice 2 but haven't picked it up yet..but I LOVE the first one...definitely one of my top 5 favorite games lol. Dead space is frickin' awesome...I love the horror genre, movies, games etc.

I would like to have a Wii just for the Mario games...Super Mario 1 and 3 are my top 2 favorite games lol. I am in the process of starting to crochet some Mario stuff *coughnerdcough*.

Mirror's Edge was distilled brilliance, but if they make a sequel, I want much less shooting, more running. The running aspect was amazing fun. When I was trying to run from 30 guys with guns, I had a lot less fun. :p

I picked up Skyrim in the big Steam sale on Friday and it has consumed me. I hated Morrowing and never played Oblivion because of how terrible Morrowing was, but Skyrim is exactly the kind of game that I love to play.

I'm trying very hard to make sure it doesn't interfere with Nano. :p

 I totally agree! I liked it more for the running/puzzle aspect. It felt like the gameplay slowed down when I ran into people with guns.

Part time gamer; time is always an issue here, but I like to play DDO because it's free to play, plus I rolled my first character in 1981 so it has a special place in my heart :)

I'm all about some Final Fantasy. I can nerd it up with the best of them when it comes to that series. I even have several of the sound tracks, I love the music.

I LOVE Skyrim (couldn't get into Oblivion or Morrowind either) and can't wait for the DLC coming out December 4th - at least on the XBox 360 (man, do I feel bad for the PS3 Skyrim players - they can't even get the DLC's out the gate for them...).

I really only play RPG's... but will occasionally play a FPS or Strategy game.

Right now, though, I'm all about the entire Mass Effect series... LOVE the games! Wish they had ended ME3 better, but at least the extended DLC ending was put out... Otherwise, I would have had to kill someone... LOL.

I'm getting ready to TRY the Assassin's Creed games. I'm not much for some of the elements of it, but am willing to try.

I enjoyed the Playstation Final Fantasy games. Really loved FF8.

I didn't like FFXII so much and although I find Lightning to be the most interesting FF character yet, I just couldn't get into XIII at all.

I've been meaning to play the Assassin Creeds as well. I have the first and second for my XBox, but my XBox is pretty much in retirement. I'll probably pick 'em up again in a big Steam sale to play on the PC. I'd like to do the same with the ME games, but EA is basically Satan and ME3 is only on Origin, the ME2 DLC is only on Origin and it's still $40.

Nova, are you looking forward to the Skyrim DLC? I wish I could play it on a PC... but my PC is a dinosaur...

FFVIII was pretty good, but I enjoyed 7 more... The ONE FF stand-alone RPG that I couldn't get into - even with the great characters, was FF IX... just couldn't push through that one. Wish I could try again.

Oh, right. FFIX. I agree, it was pretty terrible.

I did like FFX, but I had no interest in replaying it once I was done. I finished VII and VIII several times each.

I am only 15 or so hours into Skyrim, so the DLC hasn't penetrated my consciousness yet. With how much I like to explore, I imagine I'll be 100 hours before I even look at the DLC. :p But once I get there I'm sure I'll be all over it.

I like the Fallout series games, and Elderscrolls. I also play FPS's like Halo and Call of Duty. I hope to get Black Ops 2 soon. Right now though, I have been playing Guild Wars 2 when I can, usually because my wife keeps the TV tied up, but when I get the chance I play MW3 on it. I cannot really play the RTS games anymore, they are too slow going, I like to be able to become a character in the midst of whatever is going on, I do not like playing a general controling everything...
