Yeah, that's gotta hurt! I was all stressed out when I joined the AARP a few years ago, but I'm sure that medicare is much more depressing. I guess the only consolation is you're finally able to benefit from it, after paying into it for so many years.

Yeah, I hear that. I've been expecting the government to increase the age before you can collect benefits up to 310 years of age. I'm sure it gripes their budget's bottom line that people just are not dying off fast enough.
 
Yeah, I hope it's still around when I need it. And Social Security. All that money they've taken from me...
 
Applied for social security yesterday. I'm already on Medicare, so I guess this now makes it official that I have joined the Over The Hill Gang. :awcrap:

Well, you know, I've often thought that old age is God's way of chasing the soul out of the body it has gotten used to being in. Make it uncomfortable enough to where it WANTS to leave and go on to the next step.

Of course, government BS and taxes will likely have the same effect..... :grin01:

I would STRONGLY support a Constitutional amendment requiring a NOTA (none of the above) vote on all public office ballots. The people need some manner to tell government that our response to the candidates offered is nothing other than "ARE YOU KIDDING ME????"

I TOTALLY agree! If "NOTA" were an option, those who feel like WE do would be able to exercise the right to vote WITHOUT feeling like we were SLIMED! With the status quo, voting appears to be nothing more than an exercise in futility!

I can't believe that campaign signs are popping up all over the place already. Aren't the roads sidelined with enough garbage as it is?

Well, maybe the older I get, the crankier I will be. And everyone will just tolerate it because I'm a cranky old guy. :grin01: I think I need a cane so I can crack young "whippersnappers" with it.
 
Speaking of being cranky, is Hillary really going to run for president rather than go to jail where she belongs? Who would vote for her anyway? And WHY, for God's sake?

I think I understand why Hillary isn't going to Jail. Because she's always been an evil yet brilliant sociopath who knows how to cover her tracks and when she fails to (see Whitewater, Benghazi, Ken Foster's suicide, the email debacle, amongst many others) uses her skills as an attorney who is also a former First Lady, US Senator, Sec'y of State, and long-suffering wife of womanizing former prez Ole Bubba himself, who as a natural orator must CRINGE every time his wife cackles after giving a speech she reads from a TelePrompTer sounding like a high school commencement speaker!

Now that you got me going (doesn't take much but this topic is always fair game for me!): The "who" & "why"? I think it simply is because there are a LOT of STUPID ($&@*#)'s and (*******)'s in this country, unfortunately. Why was Jerry Springer and the Kardashians so popular? Why are snakes depicted as evil by so many for so long?

I love the USA, always have and always will, but there is no perfect society and God knows, we are going backwards in many ways right now! I just hope that God in his infinite wisdom would allow us a mini-miracle in an alternative choice for a leader that could do better than the front runners who are both gauging each other to death (it's kinda embarrassing in front of the whole world, isn't it?). At this point, even Marilyn Manson would do!!!

We keep going like this, and I JUST might end up like THIS guy!!!

I appreciate that, really. But sometimes I can write like the equivalent of a BULL in a CHINA SHOP and I have had experiences where my attempt at humor was either misinterpreted or was translated by some as politically incorrect. I practically LIVE by analogies & metaphors and was once called a racist because I explained to an employee that their request for a vacation during a particularly busy season had as much of a chance of getting approved as a did a Reggae Band had at playing at a Ku Klux Klan rally!
