You kind of refuted your own point in the same post, don't ya think?

Out of curiosity, is thread judge an elected or appointed position? :grin01:

(overpasses? Isn't that what a couple of guys are doing to SnakeNBake right now?)

Yes, that definitely was a problem, and I am well aware of that cliquishness taking place in there. Did this event you mention take place before or after the exodus of the "greats" here?

Happened just a couple weekends ago, The friday nite before a few members were going to the herpatarium in florida.

I guess I've been viewed as someone who is not likely to be a nice person because of some of my answers on these threads. That may very well be, but I sure wasn't given a chance to show my true self in chat that nite. And to be honest, chat to me is the one place you could realy find out what a person is like.....forum answering can give a certain light on someone. but I have always believed chat in the long run gives the true inward side of a person.

What happened that you would describe as cliqueishness?

I'm just asking, because sometimes you can come in in the middle of a discussion, and can't expect people to drop it just for you.

Take last night as an example. I was talking with someone about torts. I don't even remember how we got on that. And someone bursts in, and I advised her about what we had been discussing, (just so she would know- not like that was what we _had_ to talk about) and she said, well, I need some help, (I'm thinking- ok- sick snake- some vital question- whatever) and then goes on to ask the actual number of all the possible cornsnake crosses or something (which is where I went to change into my pajamas, the number they came up with being 11,000 or something- like- I can't even begin to discuss that topic)

But if you'd come in in the middle of the 11,000 discussion- you wouldn't have gotten a word in edgewise- but it wouldn't have been because of cliqueishness- just they were having this relatively technical discussion that you wouldn't want to interrupt.

I don't know- try another night. I kind of feel weird in chat, because I don't "know" that many people, but that's how you _get_ to know people.

Actually Nanci, was the nite before you went to the serpentarium, I understood you wanting to leave and I wished you a good time. but as soon as you left, not 2 minutes later with no further chat i was left alone there. Now it could have been anyone there was going to bed as it was late and that I could understand. But, not one acknowleded me other then yourself, which made me feel not that welcome at all.

Figured out that would be the last time I would try to go in there since was obvious to me I wasn't welcome and had nothing to add to whatever chat was going on.

Sorry, but was what I felt that night.

:-offtopic personally............i think going under them is scarier than going over. :shrugs:

I'm one of the "mediocres". Where would that put me?

and again, no.............those are called "making passes". :sidestep:
Would making an over-the-top pass be an overpass? Or is it a dyxlexic Jewish holiday?

Did you say hi to other people and they didn't say hi back?

I'm very personable, but can feel when I'm an outsider also, and I will try to be acknowleded, but won't push it. Is why I've chosen not to go back there again.
Is how I feel and is my choice. Not to say anything negative against certain members.

To be honest I don't remember the other members there that nite.

Well, usually at the time I can visit chat, it's dinner time for us on the east coast, and way past bedtime for those in UK- I think probably you just popped in in the middle of that, I guess. Try another night! Don't take it personally. Sometimes people pop in and leave immediately without saying anything. I guess looking for a specific person. I don't know. Visit again sometime- if I'm there- I'm always happy to talk about snakes or anything else for that matter!

That's where we are comparing apples to oranges. The people who I was defending in this thread have not been in chat for months. So your unfortunate experience isn't an example of those who are being accused of leaving for silly reasons. I'm still sorry it happened.

As far as this one....

I know for a fact that some people left this site because of an obvious distain for the newbies. All I can say is "more power to you in that ivory tower you are building".
There are a lot of cornsnake sites out there. And yes, I know of one that prefers to promote advanced discussions only. However, this wasn't about having a distain for newbies, it was about talking a little break. Like we have page after page explaining that sometimes people are in the mood for different flavors and don't always eat at the same restaurant. I do think it would be fair to mention that this "Advanced" forum is NOT the same as "other" forum that was brought up earlier in this thread.

I just find it interesting that this thread was started to say something just ain't quite right here and you've got page after page of people in agreement. But some how a lot of people are comfortable with blaming the nastiness on people who either haven't been here or haven't posted much at all in the past few months.:shrugs: And you wonder why people aren't coming back?

Time for another "Carol acid trip illustration":
It's as if you got tired of eating Taco Bell day after day and decided to go try out the Burger King for a bit. After a couple of days you get a little craving for a burrito so as you are walking over to Taco Bell, you see that inside is a raging food fight and a fair amount of it's participants are blaming the food fight on your departure to Burger King. Uh....ya. You are going to turn around and inconspicuously whistle back to Burger King. Unless you are like me and feel the need to step in and say "What the heck are you even talking about? Gosh!" ;)

I didn't know these people had such special powers that they could dictate the actions of others by their absence. Certainly if all the things that have been said about these ones are true this site should have improved without the immature fit throwers. The whole concept of the argument is contradictory.

I thought SnakeandBake was a _guy_ until she changed her avatar to Hair by Sir Killsalot. I guess I just assumed only a man would be scared of a little corn snake. I should have known when SnakeandBake fearlessly took him on that she was a woman! :sidestep:

I think cats are cooler than you do - I have a pair! :crazy02:

Personally- I like Krystal the best. I eat the most at Krystal. But _every_ day, I also like to get snacks from Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, and Taco Bell (although I don't find Taco Bell satisfying at all- I don't even know why I bother- I just hope their menu will improve or something)- and recently, I've been having a little snack at Pizza Inn, which I recently learned of and I like a lot, just don't have room in my stomach for as much as I'd like to stuff in, and once a week or so, I like to check out Hovan, but I'm always disappointed with what I get there- it's rather stale. I don't think Krystal even misses my patronage- since I spend so much there compared to the others. I just don't want to miss out on anything.
