Give me some music guys!

Bowling For Soup. George Lynch. I love the Holy Rollin' Hellfires, but they're impossible to get. Joe Satriani.

You listed Led Zeppelin, but if you don't have every track, then you should! ;) Greatest band of all time. That's not just my opinion-- it's been verified scientifically. :grin01:

I don't remember seeing Blue Oyster Cult on your list. I like all their stuff, but their earlier stuff rocks.

There's an '80s hair band called Shotgun Messiah that I like a lot. Their more traditional "hair" metal is great, but I really love their album "Violent New Breed". It's sort of industrial/techno/metal, and it rocks.

For some insane, virtuoso musicianship prog stuff, you can't go wrong with Dream Theater. Fates Warning is great too. And I've been getting into a lot of Porcupine Tree stuff lately.

Then there's some softer stuff that I like a lot too. Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce come to mind. Those guys are real-deal singer/songwriters.

I like a lot of Alice in Chains stuff too. There aren't too many songs better than "Got me Wrong" (imho).

Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce (and Kris Kristopherson) were who I rode my horse to when I was a teenager...

Dave walk slowly away from Deano, don't look back as you do it........
You like Zep check this out 2K Zep....... Wolfmother....Awesome

And before you move class I would like you all to put your hands together for the finest performance artists ever to get on stage (4" angle grinders on the fret board..and abstract live sequences.....class).....And an awesome sound/production.....it's the KLF

And some KLF for you guys over the pond...And a history lesson to boot.... Good National anthem LOL

Great choices! (Though I'm not real familiar with K.K.'s work.) If you like Lightfoot, there's a bluegrass guitarist/singer named Tony Rice who does some of the best versions of Lightfoot's stuff. He's not a twangy, goofy bluegrass guy though. He has a whole LP (remember that term?) of Lightfoot's stuff. You should check it out!

I should also add that Bob Dylan is a personal favorite, although I'm not so big a fan of his later stuff (but don't tell my Mom; she's a worshipper).

I love the Doors too. Not as much as I used to, but I still dig 'em.

How have you heard of all of these obscure British artists LOL. You're American and you know more about my country's current music scene than I do. :grin01:

Brits have some of the best tunes, in my opinion.

Here's some random stuff that I enjoy:

Tom Waits
Muse
Radiohead
Johnny Cash
Portishead
Pixies
Benny Goodman
Wumpscut
The White Stripes
Iggy Pop
Pulp
Billie Holiday
Ministry

Yeah, I'm a bit all over the place with my music.

Good fun American music: Jimmy Buffet. I've been to over three dozen of his concerts. I'm truly a parrot head at heart.

Harry Chapin....old, but great messages.

Yes yes and yes to fischerspooner, Nick Cave, Ladytron and Dresden Dolls. :)

If you're into techno/EBM might I suggest some VNV Nation? Preferably their earlier stuff, at least that's my favorite.

If you're more into trance techno, there are some nice mix albums out there. My current favorites are 'That Trance Mix' Volumes I and II.

And Metropolis records puts out two compilations every year. One is just called Metropolis followed by whatever year, and the second is called Critical Mass. Both worth checking out for a great variety of really good techno.

After all of this, I have to suggest some 80s metal as well. Man O'War is a favorite of mine. If no one else has suggested it, old school Metallica.

And finally, some symphonic power metal! Old school is stuff like Rhapsody, which I just love. Their songs tell stories, as do their albums, rather frequently. Then there's more modern stuff like the Finnish symphonic rock band 'Nightwish'. :)

I didn't mention Godsmack because I thought somebody else did. Faceless and IV are amazing albums.
I mentioned them a while back, but forgot to mention a particular song. Since this is a snake forum, I'll keep it on topic. ;)

Candles raise my desire. Why I’m so far away. No more meaning for my life? No more reason to stay. Freezing feeling, breathe in - breathe in, I’m coming back again! I’m not the one who’s so far away, When I feel the snake bite enter my veins. Never did I wanna be here again And I don’t remember why I came. Hazing clouds rain on my head, empty thoughts fill my ears. Find my shade by the moon light, why my thoughts aren’t so clear. Demons dreaming, breathe in - breathe in. I’m coming back again. Voodoo, I’m not the one who’s so far away.

I'm trying to hold my tongue as to not offend, but I wouldn't be upset if Jimmy Buffett went sailing and was never heard from again.

The :cool::cool: award for this thread goes to Mike for digging up the late, GREAT, sensational Alex Harvey!

I like your assortment. If I had 80gig to carry around I would have EVERYTHING. I have 2gig on my phone so I change it often.
Here's some stuff you may not have thought of, just brainstorming, you've got enough storage for anything..

Dokken, Tooth and Nail
Patti Smith,Horses
White Zombie, La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol.1
Snot, Get Some
Richie Blackmore's Rainbow, or the track "A Light in the Black" from their Rising album.
Prince, Ultimate Discography. Disc #2 is all extended version/dance mix tracks.
Primus, Pork Soda
James Gang, James Gang Rides Again
Nazareth, No Mean City
All that remains, The Fall of Ideals
Jonny Lang, Lie to Me
A Perfect Circle, The Thirteenth Step (I like the song about the nurse)
Pixies, Wave of Mutilation
Frank Black, his first album
Children of Bodom, Hatebreeder, or the new one
Killing Joke, the first one from 1980
Bizkit for when you're mad at someone, they always complain about other people in their songs. Chocolate Starfish?
Some Aaron Lewis for when you're sad, he always sounds sad. Staind, Break The Cycle?
No rap at all? How limiting. No Cypress Hill? NWA? Method Man? What about some real harsh, crude, punk rock/rap; Hed PE,(hed)PE? Sorry Mom.

Open your eyes, a chill passes you by. A premonition coming strong. Rich with desire, a superstition in disguise draws me into where I belong. Have you ever wondered why in a dream you can touch the fallen sky or fly to the heavens that watch you over, telling me its all voodoo, voodoo too.

Dave try out Avenged Sevenfold, you like BFMV and a7x are kind of similar, I dont care what anyone says a7x=the best, lol. Don't get anything from City of evil album tough, that one blew, the new album is great (its self titled avenged sevenfold) and get some stuff off waking the fallen album like chapter four and unholy confessions
