Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and have a question for all of you.

I currently have two 5 month old corns feeding on weekly pinkies. I'll be going away for a couple of weeks over Christmas and am trying to figure out what to do about feeding.

Will 8 month old juvies be ok without food for a couple of weeks? Will it effect their growth in the long term? They'll get fresh water every other day but my roommate aren't too hot about the feeding thing..

Most of my experience has been with Jungle carpet pythons and they're fine to go without food for weeks at a time, just not sure about young corns...

They should be fine. I wouldn't let them go any longer than 2 weeks though. Your biggest concern should be the roommates...they are notorious for not babysitting properly or carelessly letting animals escape.

Agreed.

Especially if they're scared of the snake. My roommate kicked my snake out. He is living with a friend now. :'(

My roommates are all big animal lovers and aren't afraid of snakes, no problems having them change the water. They're just a little squeamish about feeding f/t rodents and I can understand that.

I think the "notoriously careless roommates" concept is a generalization, everyone has a different situation. And I'm not the type to leave my animals in careless hands ;)

Just live in a town where have the population is vet students and the other half is vet-student wannabes ;) Sometimes I think I'm the only sane person around.

The college I am at is known for its agriculture and life science programs, including pre-vet and zoology. But of course I am unlucky enough to not be roomed with one of them -__-
