i can't believe it!!! after almost one year, my corn escaped!!! and that's because of the new thermostat i got, the probe wire was too big and i had to pass it through the open sliding glass.. but the gap was so narrow i would have never believe he could go through that!!! but he did!!! it's 1 am, i've been looking in my room but couldnt find my snake.. he probably got out of the room!! im missing from my home from two days so he had all the time to do whatever........ im so upset and sad... tomorrow i'll be searching better.. do you have any suggestion in the meantime??? :(

Look in warm places, I've read some people put masking tape around the baseboards (not sure if on the floor or running sideways - but apparently the snakes like to stay close to the wall so the tape will catch him.

I've had babies get away and I don't know how I even got so lucky to find them as quicky as I did and before 1 of my 4 cats got them. I'm sure more experienced people here will give you tips. I hope you find him. I know I freaked out when mine got out. It was horrible.

Masking tape placed sticky side up under doorways and along walls is a good trap. Some people will place heat pads on the floor with a hide on top and hope that they think it's a cozy place to curl up. You can also dust flour or some similar substance on hardwood or tile floors to try and track where he might have gone, since he will leave tracks in the flour. This doesn't work out if you have other pets or a lot of people in your house, though!

Don't give up! Lots of people have had missing animals turn up months later, safe and sound.

i found him!!!! :) im so happy!!! and it took me like one hour! he was in a drawer, amazing how he got there.. i'll secure his cage with more attention from now on!

Glad to hear it too! When my baby was missing I thought about drawers but didn't check inside them all.

When my baby corn went missing, I found her in a drawer too! I thought she was a pen until she moved. Glad you found yours!

yeah i tought of drawers last, cause i thought he couldnt get inside cause they were closed.. but then i discovered my chest of drawers is open on the rear, and that's where he got in.. he's safe and sound now, he just ate a baby rat :)

the only thing im worried about is: he spent at least 36h at a 20° temp (room temp).. will he be sick?

what about the people that found their corn MONTHS later.. were they sick? or just skinny and no respiratory infection from the temps?

he should be fine, people who put their snake into brumation have them at much lower temps than that for months.

Looks like you might have to put tape on your encloser doors when you find him again sorry to here that he is missing. I put tape over the sizes of my lids all 4 sizes that way my corn has noway to get out no matter how it tries.

Hope you find him again. What is his set up like? If you're using something with a screen lid definitely get some clips for it, and some heavy books just for added measure. If you're using something with sliding doors, he is most likely escaping between the two panes. ANY hole they can get their nose is in big enough for them to get out of! I personally like to keep anything under a year in a plastic tub, I have NEVER lost a snake out of a plastic tub. I trust the tubs enough to keep expensive morphs in.. If you're set on using a glass aquarium type set up, see if you can find ones that having SLIDE IN SCREENS. Those are the zilla critter cages, I don't know if you have them in italy. I hope you find him again! He is too pretty to lose!

Omg I read ur post a few days ago and was thinking to myself I would die if my babies were to get out and then a few days later I cam home from diner at my sisters house and my female was gone my husband had left the thermometer cord hanging done and she climbed right up it I was in a total panic we looked everywhere and couldn't find her but thank god my husband looked under the microwave and there she was it was a scary lesson learned, we named her Houdini :)
