I've only been a snake owner for a couple of weeks and today I got my second corn! Another Amel. Again, no idea if it's a she or he, but I'm calling her a she since I'm calling my other one a he. Sorry for the poor quality photos and they crazy look on my face, I swear I'm not insane. We snapped a couple pics and are now going to let her rest and adjust to her new home. Now to find a name!

Yeah, my husband, who took that pic, was joking that he was waiting for her to latch on so he could get the pic. She was so sweet though, she just explored. All I know about her is that the lady that had her's roommate left her when she moved out. The lady I got her from couldn't keep taking care of her. She looks like she's been well taken care of and weighs 78g.

Good for you!
I'm starting to get that itch to add a second one as well. Good thing everyone lives too far. I'm using that as an excuse. ;)

BTW love your glasses!

Oh yes they are...I say this 11 snakes later. I remember my first reptile show, I was like a kid in a toy store.

You have no idea!! I remember when I was going to stop at 10. Then it was 15. Then it was 20. Then it was 30. Now there is a hard line drawn at 50!!! But with babies- that added an extra 90 mouths to feed last summer! I don't know how people with large collections do it. The problem is, they are all individuals, and it's so easy to just get one more friend! One more cool project! Then a new gene comes up, or a new gene combination. Then you have your first babies and OMG is it hard to say goodbye! There is no hope...

Cute pics- cute baby!

I'd like to get one more, but my husband is at a firm no, well for now at least! My kids named our new snake Lilly. I figured since I named the baby, they deserved a chance to name the new one. They were so cute. My son, who is 4, was like, I like Lilly. It was pretty random since he's been insisting we name a snake Spiderman (again, he's 4). I'm glad they found something they could agree on! I'll take more and better pictures of her once she's settled in. I have to find a bigger viv for her too, she came with a small one and no heat source (She now has a UTH and a light, it's hard to reach high enough temps in my cold house)! She loves to burrow and that's where she's been. She will stretch out near the glass in the front of the viv so we can see her body, but hasn't made use of her hides or shown herself above the aspen. That's ok though, I want her to get settled into our home.

It's a disease, A sickness that can only be controlled never cured.
As hard as I try, I always look for more snakes, more vivs, more room.

I need help!!!!

We need a Corn Snakes Anonymous Group. "Hello, my name is Rita and I have a growing collection of cornsnakes."
