Love All, Trust A Few
Thought I'd take a few pics of my baby copperheads. They are a week old. One just shed. They looked so adorable all balled up together with 2 lil heads poking out I couldn't resist! These are hopefully het for abbernant pattern. Also included is a pic of the mother (she is not in our private collection, wish she was:) lol)

Hope you enjoy!

The guy that has the female doesn't name his snakes. He calls me silly for naming them. He says their names are "for sale" lol But I will name my 2 babies! A famous couple name would be good. Like Bonnie and Clyde, but better.

Got any ideas??

I meant does the pattern have a name, not does Mama Snake have a name! It would be weird to me to not have each snake have its own name, though.

I know absolutely nothing about Copperheads (except that they're poisonous), since we don't have them, here, but I sure think the pattern and coloring on your babies is attractive!

Oh sorry! lol No I don't think this pattern has a name. There is a striped copperhead (prettiest one I've ever seen) for sale on fauna and he's offering hets also, so I'm hoping that this is genetic.

And I know Canebrake Cowboy from SC has some awesome patterened copperheads (including stripes, if I recall correctly). I don't know his real name lol That's his myspace name.

And Thank You Mrs. Z!! I think they are adorable. Wish I woulda got their lil green tails in the shots, but they looked so comfy.

Very nice looking abbarrent pattern mom. Hope it is simple recessive for you.

Pet peeve for me, North American snakes are not "poisonous", they are venomous. Poison is ingested and venom is injected.

Man I love the looks of the Copperheads. Gorgeous! Wish I could trust myself to have hots.

Thanks Brent! I don't handle them or mess with them much. My husband does all that. I will feed them sometimes with my really LONG tongs if I have too, but thats it lol And I may get a lil close to take pics lol

Yeah next the the gaboon viper they are my favorite hot, color and pattern wise.

Nice copperheads, I used to keep those myself. Here is a pic from 2003 of a litter being born...

Nice pic! Like the bright green tail on that one baby! We had our first new borns last year! We have one female who we think is gravid right now.

Edit:
I meant to ask, why do you not keep them now?

Thanks... I guess I just got bored with them.. *shrug* I've kept all the ssp... northerns, southerns, trans pecos, broad banded, osage. Got pics somewhere of most of them. Anyway, not doing any hots at the moment, except for this purty gurl....

Something about streckeri that I really like. Down the road I may add more of them to my collection, along with some nice southern, trans pecos, or broad banded copperheads. But for now, this one will do. :)

Great minds think alike. This is the only dusky pygmy we have. We are thinking about getting a big girl off the same guy that we got the baby copperheads off of. Not a very good pic, but only one I got handy.

You know, I can't believe I suggesting this, as I never would have thought I would say such a thing in a million years . . . but with those fangs, I might have to go with vampire names. There. I said it. I'm a little ashamed. :nope:

Ha ha I love it!! I went and looked up vampire/spooky names and I found what I'll call them:

Bones and Banshee!!!

Thanks!

I'll take one without the venom please! I get bitten by my corns and now almost my ATB, no venom for me please!

Why can't these guys be like skunks and de-skunked/de-venomed without harm? Or, is there a false copperhead that has the looks but not the venom?

They can be de-venomed or venomoid. But it is a process that is dangerous to the snake and often the snake is never the same after the surgery.

Awesome Birthing pic, reminds me of a conveyor belt.

@Sinister: if you get an aberrant litter from those 2 in a few years, HOOK ME UP!!! ^_^
