HATCHLING THREAD (VOL. 3) 2014-2015 Edition

I agree 100%! The colors on this guy are unbelievable. Do you have any idea what he is?

Thanks! I'm not really sure. Maybe Kastanie + ??

Ultramel crossed my mind at one point, but the original pairing (Grandparents) were an Amel Stripe x Cinder. No Ultramels came from that breeding. Then you have the parents of these Orange ones which are Classics Het Striped Amel Cinder that couldn't be Het Ultra because they would then be Ultramels.

Did either the parents or grandparents ever throw a Amel? Maybe the cinder is hiding something.

The Grandparents did not have any Amel offspring even though the female was a Str Amel. If the Cinder was Het Ultra there should have been Ultramels in the clutch.

I agree! Very cool! Can't wait to see what comes of them!

Thanks! Yeah so when these guys are ready to breed, Kastanie obviously will be one of the first tests. I may even breed the male Classic (Het Striped Amel Cinder/orange things) X a Kastanie female next season.

Earlier on in the post (and I mean like page 4 or 5) you mentioned something about "the dreaded masque gene". What is the masque gene and why is it bad?

Not an expert by any means, but from what I understand the masque gene is typically associated with diffused/bloodred mutants but pops up in other morphs and is typically not desirable (IMO) in that it doesnt add anything to the beauty of the snake. I would compare it to the yellow throat that anerys and a couple other morphs tend to develop with age.

REALLY ?!?!! How many more can you produce ??...........LOL Just kiddin.
I know the combines are endless.

Very Cool Steve !!
It will be interesting to see how this one changes as it matures.

Walter
:crazy02:BOUT' CORNS !!
