REPTILE ADDICT
hello everyone,
my name is matt i live in UT and am new to this forum. i have owned different reptiles for years and recently purchased my first corn she is a orange candy cane. i am very excited i have always been interested in corns and would eventually like to breed. i have been searching trying to find information on breeding size and weight and cant find the information i need. i mean i have found some but they contradict i found one site that said 18 months and a 100 grams but that just seems way to small then i found a site that said 3 years 300 grams and 3 feet any information would be highly appreciated. i hope to talk to you all you seem to have so much knowledge to offer.
thanks matt

Welcome Matt..

You will find many awesome people here that can help you with your research into breeding. The 3,3,3 rule is a good one for females, Males usually can go a bit earlier.
Dig around the search feature is very helpful.
Again
Welcome

Welcome aboard!!! The 3,3,3 rule is what is discussed here. 3 feet long, 300 grams, and 3 years old. If you have anymore questions don't be afraid to ask.

I just wanted to say that I know it can be hard to wait 3 years for a female to get 3 feet and 300 grams, but from what I have read and heard on egg binding its good to wait. After much deliberation on all info I found I (just last night) came to the conclussion I will not be breeding my Amel next year, she's just not going to be big enough for next spring (she's 2 next year). The health of the snakes should always come first. Cheers!

my female i was told is 2 1/2 years old but she is quite small she only weighs 100 grams i dont think the prior owner took very good care of her.

i have good news she is doing great she now weighs in at 139.5 grams and looking great compared when i got her about a month ago when she only weighed in at 97 grams. i look at this as a rescue i got here for free the person that i got her from told me that she tryed to bite every time she tryed to pick her up and was just done with her. she has never tryed to bite me she is actually realy tame could it have been because of stress or housing etc.

here is a couple of pictures:
