ComoxCorn

Pssst...Got Corn??
just a brief introduction. my name is Pete. I live in Comox, BC Canada and own a this years female Okeetee (phase reference only) corn snake, although this summer i hope to add several Abbott's to my collection....if I can get them up here from the states.
I've been a snake enthusiast all my life and my goal is to put together a small breeding stock of Okeetee and Abbott's Okeetee Corns....more hobby than anything.
Hope I get the chance to talk with some of you.
I've posted a couple of pics of my corn (Lucy)

Beautiful animal!
Lee Abbott is a member here and tends to post pics of some mouthwatering stuff from time to time :)

Good luck with your passion :)

Hi Pete! It's Dawn, from the petstore. Nice to see you here! She's a gorgeous girl, can't wait to see your project progressing, welcome!

I'm in BC too!
: D
welcome! Okeetees are a great snake to try and get into, I always like to see breeders with a focus instead of just buying a little of everything and breeding it. If you just focus on one or two your going to have quality animals down the line.

Welcome to the forum Pete, hope you enjoy your time here! :)

Nice intro and beautiful snake!

Best wishes,

Welcome to the forum! I recently just started having a fond for oketees (having one myself now..lol)...Yours is very nice looking..

Just a side note from the welcome..just be very careful if your going to continue to feed inside the tank..I see bedding around the dish you put the pinkie in..As long as she doesn't injest any bedding it should be okay..Just make sure you watch her while she's eatting :0)

But yes welcome to the forum and your new addiction..lol :0)

Hi Dawn, thanks for the reply. was surprised when i saw your post. It is definately a go with the Abbott's, let me know when i'm in the store if you want me to add one to my order with your name all over it. I am also going to add 2 creamsicle okeetees to the batch....would be a good mix with your co-workers snake:cheers:

Welcome to the forum. I'm a fan of Okeetees also. Nice snake. There are many nice and knowledgable people on this forum.

Uh-oh, you've started something...I would love an Okeetee...just a matter of finding room..*considers selling the couch to make room for more tanks* :)

Thank for the warm welcome. Look forward to my daily visits to this site for sure. I've been reading a lot of the posts here and they're all great. Nice friendly group.

Hey! This site is great! I definitely find it more open and welcoming than some of the others out here! You're snake looks great, I hope she does well for you, I know you won't be disappointed with whatever you get from Don either!! :)

Hope you find all the information you need

Hi Pete! Welcome to the forums (although I see you joined before I did)!

Saw this bumped so I thought I'd say hi. I'm Saryn, and I live up in Port Hardy! Got relatives down in Comox, though. What pet store did you get your snake from? I'm going to be coming down island in a few weeks and If I haven't gotten myself a heat mat, rhetrostat or a thermostat by then I plan to get one while I'm there. Was it Petland?

Hope to talk to you soon!

Hi Saryn! I know you weren't talking to me :) but I'm the Reptile Manager at Petland, you can come by and visit anytime. You won't find any snakes there ( stupid bylaws *grumble*) but I can hook you up with a heat mat. No Rheo /Therms either, I've got mine hooked up to a lamp dimmer and digital thermometer, no probs . Cheers!
Dawn

I should be down there on the 7th or 8th of June. Driving my mom down for a flight to Ontario. ^_^. The base of my tank is 12"x12", so I'd need one like 3"x3" or similar measurements. Exo-Terra's extra small is 4"x5". Do you carry that kind? ^_^

<3 Petland. I always go in there every time I'm down to fawn over the animals.
