He was sold to me as a Hypo Lavender. All the hypo lavenders i've seen at this size are waayy more pinky/purple compared to this guy. On the table the breeder had a few caramel-lavenders and he was unsure of hets. I am sure he is motley as well, which wasn't promoted. His belly is clear and appears to have diffusion on the side which has me considering blood.

I just need your opinion guys! I am considering...
hypo lavender
hypo caramel lavender
hypo lavender blood?

tell me your thoughts!

Hypo Lavender... If he doesn't have any belly pattern, then Motley Hypo Lavender. Go with what the breeder told you until you can prove out genes(through breeding trials), Pictures often do not show true colors. Pretty snake.

Thanks.

I do think its motley hypo lavender. The table owner seemed unsure and unclear. There will be breeding trails in a few years!

Im happy with him!

I'm not seeing the motley, if he has no belly checks then he would be! But judging from his back, I just don't see it.:shrugs:

Could someone tell me where they see the motley markers? My motley has full circles all the way down his back, so perhaps I am just used to that and don't see the others? Thanks!

See how his sides are diffused? Meaning the saddles don't come all the way down his sides connecting to his belly? That's the Motley part. They don't have to be perfect circles in order to be considered motley, just the lack of pattern on the sides is enough.

At least that's my interpretation of it....and I'm not an expert. :)

Regardless of what he is, he's very much a handsome young fellow!

Thank you! I realized that after I had posted haha. I appreciate it! I guess I'm just used to seeing my guy with his little circles.

And indeed, this guy is very handsome!

You are correct in that Motleys do not have to have the perfect circles (on dorsal pattern) to be a Motley.
However, a dorsal pattern that comes all the way down the sides, connecting to the belly (or nearly so), is called "Banded" (and do not have the normal/typical pattern of most corns).

Cornsnakes have a dorsal pattern and a side pattern (with the exception of Bandeds, &/or those that are great examples of Diffused/Blood, etc.).
This includes Motleys.
Only, with Motleys, it is not usually the traditional side pattern. On Motleys, the side pattern can be near normal (though not quite) or... more likely ... of a more linear pattern (kind of like someone smears the pattern, or stretches it, horizontally), &/or could consist of lines (side stripes &/or dashes), &/or could be absent in places.
Then, of course, Motleys have the plain belly.;)

well then... the goal is to produce a motley hypo caramel lavender in a few years! thanks guys!!!

Caramel Lavenders are pretty cool by themselves...

Ohhh ok. I guess that makes more sense. But what about random spots on their belly? Because Donatello is clearly a motley but he has random brown specs on his belly. Could that be a marker of a het he might have?

It is not too unusual to find some Motleys that have specks on their belly. Some may even have a few random checkers.
As far as I am aware, it is not indicative of any hets.
