HELP! I'm Freaking Lighting question

Ok i have a UVB Exo Terra Fluorescent Bulb and heard they provide UVB radiation and these bother the snake because they have no eyelids.
Here is his exact quote:
"UVB is good for lizards, but not cornsnakes. Since lizards have eyelids, they can close their eyes to avoid radiation that will fry their retinas. Your snake will probably hide from it, but if you notice the light is always in the snake's eyes, better get rid of that light. Corns do not need light to metabolize calcium. In other words, they do not require vitamin D3 like most lizards do. "
Is this true he also told me ATH is bad too plus i cant find a small enough bulb for my set up 75 watt was too much now i am with the flourescent thingy. What light should i use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also if the light you provide me with dosent supply heat i am thinking of getting a heat pad for my bottom right hide. Here is my tank if it helps.

Lighting isn't that important. Just think of all the snakes in rack systems around the world. I would place a florescent light or something small in there just so you can light up the viv and see the snake(no heat). Then I would buy a UTH or some kind of heat panel for the bottom with probes and thermostat for heating.

The tank is 90 gallons and the cage averages 80 degrees all except for the bottom right hide i was thinkin about getting a medium heat pad for there and probing it to see how it works?

I'd say you need somewhere that's cooler than 80 for the snake to have the ability to cool off if it wants.

You know your cage is really awesome, but more arboreal than it needs to be. Eventually your snake will need more length in the cage and less height so why not turn the cage long ways, remove the lamp, and use a UTH on 1/3 of the cage so you can provide the correct temp gradient? Or better yet get a 20 gallon long tank for the snake and get a few cresteds to go in the 90 gal:D

You don’t need to freak out, just understand that the UVB is not necessary for your snake. Snakes in the wild live on a planet with a sun the gives off UVB light every day and they don’t go blind. Imagine. The correct temperatures are more important for them than the quality of light.

Danielle makes a good point. Corn snakes don’t need tall cages so much. They will climb and maybe enjoy the ledges but will use them less as they grow larger.

PS: If you were to resize your first picture it would make this thread easier to read.

I have a heat lamp producing a temp up to 35 degrees C, it is controlled using a magic eye thermostat, which uses daylight to switch on and off.
The temp in the viv is 35 degrees by the lamp and 25 degrees at the other end.
Sid uses both ends as he feels, at the moment he is in the middle getting ready to shed.
When we had the heatwave over here the viv temp rose to over 40 degrees, at one end with the heater switched off.
I had no problems with the snake he used the water a couple of times to submerse himself but it was normal behavior.

ok im good on light and im going to get a medium heat pad for the bottom and then it should be ok. Im only using the light to see in the cage because ATH is not good UTH is best for snakes. And about the tannk no way in hell i am making a new one illl just keep it the way it is because there is no room in my house for anything larger based.
