My baby corn snake escaped yesterday, and after about half an hour of frantic searching we found her, she was abit cold but other then that she was fine, and ive got up this morning, and she has got out again, dont know how as i covered up the gap where i think she escaped from, im really concerned has i have 4 cats, and well im guessing she avoided them yesterday but i dont know if she will be so lucky second time around, can anyone please help me tricks to catching a snake or methods to try to tempt her out? i have to go to the hospital and i really dont want to leave her alone whereever she is

Search the forum 'escape' and you will find hundreds of threads dedicated to catching escapees.

Can someone else be at home while you are away? Presumably someone is looking after the moggies?

You NEED to secure the vivarium properly though - do it now while she's still on the loose! Check every surface, corner, everything. She's getting out somehow and it could be through the tiniest hole..

you may have better luck with a diffrent type of tank, for example the one i got first had a slide in top screen, you can get them at LLLreptile.com for pretty cheep to. any way when i got my three a bigger tank i added a 3rd lock in the middle to help hold down the lid so they wouldn't be able to escape as for your snake try looking into any and all small spaces. i re did my tank a few days ago to give my guys more places to climb and found all three cramed into the smallest of their 4 hides. i have no idea how all 3 of them fit in that small coconut shell (the largest is a little over 24inches and the smallest is 19inches but they did it :eek1:
good luck

Watch the cats closely. If they seem interested in a certain area...that's where your snake is likely to be. They will "play" with it long before killing it...so watch them and you should find the little guy hopefully.
Also don't give up. I found a snake after a year and I had multible dogs and a cat. She was found on the front sidewalk a year later...sunning herself. LOL!
