no need to teach me about blood mass  I'm a biology student and I spent a whole semester researching on snakes and their biogoly in my final year. I know what about 2 ml looks like, but it doesn't look nearly as bad as in that pic.

That pic of Monty was taken last summerwhen he was about 1 year old, but he's a little chubbier now :D (and yes, as in Monty Python, love "the holy grail" ) Monty is now getting a hamster or a gerbil every 7-10 days.

Oh yeah and that pic of the female in the tube, it was taken the day after I got her, I've been feeding her adult mice every 5-7 days since then, she looks a little chubbier now :eats02:
When I got them their discharge was like transparent gel with a few white balls in it, now it finally looks like "normal" snake poo

:-offtopic Sorry for the cranky post folks, she's been trying to chase me off the boards for over a year and I'm not letting her and her high horse get in the way of trying to help others and keeping my snakes healthy... not gunna happen. Snakes > Tacs ENORMOUS ego problems.
Well she has been here longer then you. She is the Alfa female, unless you wish to challenge her of her possestion, but i think that might include some mud wrestling!:grin01:

any more blood loss, Sedda? Hope your snake is recovering well. If you do end up with hatchlings, how will you distribute/ re-home them? I can't imagine how it would be, because you will always have to be careful no trail leads back to you. Are you breeding your own mice? Because frozen pinky orders are going to look suspicious..............and pose another risk for discovery.

I have started my own breeding (mice) so when the time comes, I will have sometinhg for them to eat. If there will be healthy hatchlings, they will go to people I know :)
but no I haven't seen any more blood :)

Wouldn't it be obvious you have snakes if you're out buying rodents every week? Or do you breed? Sorry, I'm just curious  lol. I hope your female is ok!

Ferrets are Illegal in U.S. because in the past they killed our chickens. But if you get a listens saying you can handle and care for them.

Ferrets are illegal in all of California, and some cities and counties in the rest of the U.S., not the whole country. And they're illegal in California because they could become an invasive species if people released or lost non-neutered ferrets, not because they kill chickens. They are not legal with a license in any of California. No such license exists.

Sedda: Most U.S. vets, for what it's worth, will treat animals that are hurt, regardless of their legality. Before my city made ferrets legal, I was fostering a neglected ferret who was openly seen at two different vets, and neither of them batted an eye. You can always call a vet's office and say "Do you treat snakes?" and if they say "No, they're illegal," you can say "Thank you for your time" and call the next vet's office. No one will track you down for making an informational phone call. :)

That's the thing, there is one vet that will treat them but she doesn't know anything about them. And some vets, if you call them to ask if they treat snakes, will say "no, but i will have to report you" and that has happend on more than one occation :S
there are two laws on this matter which are totally idiotic when thay are said together:
a vet must treat any ingured/sick animal
a vut cannot treat an illegal animal

weird isn't it :S

It's not really weird as such, because technically it's one law:

A vet must treat any injured/sick animal that is legal.

It is a bit stupid nonetheless :)
