Hey guys I need obsoleta help

So...I am going to be blunt. (I am scared incase this means bad news) >.<

My texas rat has a small dent in his eye. I got a picture of it as I was feeding him tonight. Now its not the best quality but I hope it helps. When you look at it head on you cannot see it.

There is no color deformation going on. Also it might help to add that ever since I got him I have checked every shed for both eyecaps. To this day they are all accounted for. His temps and, well...everything has not changed much since I got him under control about a year ago. (Poor humidity problems, thought texas rat meant dryer conditions lol. Well he was hatched and raised in the wetter part of Canada.)

Have you guys ever seen this before?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I think it means he is dehydrated and needs higher humidity and maybe soaking. I just read another thread about this somewhere. The eye fixed itself quickly.

Oh thank you Nanci so much! I searched the health forum for dented eyes...and even the picture forum with no luck. I had no thought to check any others!

His humidity is usually kept really high, right now its at 65%

I sprayed his viv down with some warm mist and I made him a moist hide like he is about to shed, even though he just did.

Hope this works. I am pretty sure it will, I trust you guys!

Thanks again!

IMHO you're looking at an eyecap that got stuck and didn't get off properly during the last shed.
As far as I am aware, dented eyes is not your typical symptom for dehydration.

I think it is yeah. Spike usually has that before he sheds (or when hes dehydrated) and his eyecaps always come off.

By the way- that thread suggested a fix that could have simply helped removing the eyecap.
However it does seem like it's a common symptom...
Well, you learn new things every day.

I found this very interesting. I had to go get my snakes out and look at their eyes. Good catch on that, OCS. I don't know that I would even have noticed that slight indentation.
