Whats up everyone. I was walking around in Petco and wandered into the reptile section. I looked down at the bottom cage and noticed a small little snake trying to crawl up the front of the glass, and that did it. I am in love. I went home and immediately turned on my laptop and did some research on corn snakes. I was amazed on how easy it is to keep them. I did some research for a few days in my spare time on the internet and I decided I will go to the pet store and get all the equipment I need. I think I will get everything running properly and the maybe get the snake after a week or so of everything running smoothly. I am sure I will have many questions to come and look forward to meeting you guys and getting some good answers.

Good decision to get the corn and also good that you are getting everything prepared in advance for the new arrival.
Since you are doing a lot of researching anyway, it wouldn't hurt to look into breeders in your area. While a lot of people get their first corn at petco, there's been a few people who have had a bad experience there, and by purchasing a snake from a reputable breeder you can be assured of getting a healthy one with no issues, at probably a better price...
Welcome to the CS forum BTW

I have no experience with snakes, or any reptiles for that matter. So I don't want to get into something I can't handle, not fair to the little guy. But to my suprise, they are pretty easy to keep happy.

I live in in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Anybody know a good breeder around that area? I searched on the net a bit, but came up empty handed. Thanks in advance.

IDK of anybody in MN but you could always post in corn snakes wanted & see if you get any bites
Or order a corn online from serpenco, SMR, Kathy Love or another breeder, shipping is really quite safe for them
Good luck on your quest, be sure to post a pic when you get one :wavey:

Oh you know I will. Thanks. I found a place called Twin Cities Reptiles I may check out. I also found a few online snake shipping places. I wasn't sure how safe it was, but you answered that question. Thanks.

Especially with breeders on this site buying an animal online and having it shipped is safe and pretty "hassle free". Brows around the for sale forum or post a wanted add if you have a specific morph in mind. You may want to wait a few more month though for a larger selection of babies.

So do you have a pittie? Such lovely dogs, any pictures or good anecdotes?

No, but would like to get one when I get my own house. "Pitbull" is my boxing nickname. I am an amature boxer. I am a light welterweight (141 lbs), and have a record of 36-3. I want to turn pro someday.
