well, my first post is a sad one. i got a lavender het(named houdini for his amazing ability to ezcape all three of my smaller cages...) at the reptile show in daytona recently and he was doing quite well. last night he was out and moving around, i silled his water bowl and went to bed. i got a pinkie for him and went to get him out(noticed he tipped his water bowl over) and he wasnt moving. his eyes were glazed over and he was cold... he was my second corn and i had planned to breed him and my older corn when he reached maturity... but now that will not happen. he was a feisty corn, going into defensive positions every time his cage was opened but he was docile once out of his cage. he is now burried in my back yard. now i must decide what i want to do with me breeding plans...

you kno, if he had been showing signs or had been to the vet and i knew it might happen i wouldnt be so upset. but he had just eaten(and constricted it for the first time) 5 days ago...

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
It always hurts but it sounds like you were a good keeper and did everything you should.

tell murhpy i said hello... he kicked me in the lava last month with the same type of event... sorry about that.

i like to beleive that i am a good keeper, he only went without water once and that was for a day and a half(went out of town). he was always fed on schedule and handled once a day... alli kno is that i now want to get more corns. i think a snow, pewter, and another lavi would suit me.
