House Training Adult Dog

Great links, Nancy!

What she said...except with an I! Thanks for the input everybody! I'm not as nervous about this whole situations as I was earlier. I also got permission from my girlfriend's parents to keep him in their backyard, if all else fails. I'm not planning on that though...

This is the ideal method. Crate training, when done properly, is your best friend. It creates a safe haven for your dog, and a clean house for you. Plus, crated dogs cannot harm themselves or eat anything potentially harmful when you gone. It protects all involved. It must however be done right-get a book!

LOL unless your dog is semi-deranged like our GSD and will harm himself eating/breaking out of the actual crate. If that's the case, heaven help you. :) But really, good luck! Everyone on here seems to have had success with their suggestions so hopefully you find one that fits your style of training.
