How long do I keep the small pinky in the glass of warm water to feed to my baby corn snake?

Hmmm... well first of all puting it in water to warm it destroys the smell of the pinkie, and the snake may therefore not eat the pinkie, which you should know... and anyway I always airdry my pinkies for 20-25 minutes.

really? i was always told to do it in the water! good to know!

I always thaw food in warm water. (pinkys take about 5 minutes if the water is hot)
Some people dry the mice off afterwards, I don't.

Not sure if what I'm doing is right or wrong, but it HAS worked for me since 1995!

Ok, now, don't handle him, or disturb him, even a little, for a minimum of 48 hours after feeding.

Again with incorrect advice (has yours eaten for you yet, by the way?), Cody!

There are some who will say that warming a pink in hot water helps, because often a mother mouse will urinate on her litter to mask their smell and make them unappealing to preditors, like snakes. Some very picky eating snakes respond only after the pinky has been washed with dish soap (Ivory seems to be preferred).

Kanchii - glad it ate for you. That first one is a nail biter for sure.

I place my pinkie..fuzzy..hopper whatever i am feeding, into a small snack size ziplock bag taking all the air out and then just putting that in a glass of hot water for about 5 mins..works like a charm.

Lol, actually it has! It ate today, the other times I tried feeding it, I warmed um up with water, this time I simpily put the pinkie on a paper towel, left it my feeding tank, got my snake, and within five minutes it was devored. I don't know about the femal mouse urine thing, however my brother houses rats and mice in the feeding tank he has, which desgusting and filled with urine and feces, but didn't eat till I airdried it. Anyway, with that female urine thing, it made no sense to me, because water smells nothing like urine! Think about it, how would a demistic Corn, smell the urine of a mouse that urienated on it, and anyway if that was true, the scent would of washed into the water. But heck, if your snake isn't like mine and doesen't need to be airdried, what's the point of airdrying it? glad your snake ate, Kanchii

Heck as long as your snake are/is eatting and healthy, your doing it right! but maybe my snake has trouble smelling... hmmm.... I wonder

Yes it's quite a relief, now I don't have to worry, and get upset, and be afraid she will never eat. I'm cody, not Cory, why doese so many people call me Cory around hear? O well, don't matter, Cory sounds better than Cody to me anyway.

Oops! I'm terrible with names! I got 75% of the letters right. Sorry, Cody.
