I have a 4 year old male corn who hasnt eaten since 17th feb, he did shed just after that but since then has shown no interest in food. He is out and about all the time nudging on the glass and wondering around but each time I have tried him with a mouse he shows no interest.

I did breed him last year with my female and I know it has been breeding time but how long will it be before he shows a interest in his food and not trying to find his girl.

Silly question do the females give off a scent that he may be able to smell which is why he is out all the time, there vivs are on top of each other.

Thats a great question, I know other snakes do like garters and ringneck ect... but I am not sure about corns??? Anyone?

Also my male went on a six week strike the last 2 years. But my other male has never done a strike.
 
It really all depends on the snake. Some males will only go for a week or two, some will go for months at a time.

Oh, and that's not a silly question. Almost all animals release a "secret scent", known as pheromones. It drives the opposite sex wild!
 
what a little tease, tried him again tonight with a mouse but not interested just totally ignored it even when I tried a little dance with it he wasnt bothered.
 
My 6 year old male goes off his feeding every year. It seems that this year ,he has gone off for a longer time . Its been at least 2.5 monthes. It will be good to see him eat one again soon .Other than that , he sems very content in his tank which he uses every part and is always out in the open .
