When you have a good amount of experience and enough knowledge to take care of multiple snakes... thats when.
When your parents can afford to buy or make you one.
I have the money, and though I'm 13, I have the carpentry experience to make one. I've been messing around with power tools since I was 4.
Thats right your the expert at everything. Forgot about that.

Speaking of money, how much would, lets say a 3 adult plus a few hatchling parts cost to make? I'm taking a longshot guess and saying $40 for the wood/plastic/whatever I make it out of, $40 for bins (expensive! :eek1
, and $20 for lights (which I want) and $40 or so for heat tape. All this adds up to is
So does $140 sound about right for a 5 level rack?
If you build a rask system that most breeder have.....why the lights????

He wants lights because he's unique. I wonder about his parents what parent lets a four year old use 'power tools'?
It's nice to see someone thinking ahead about future decisions rather than running out, buying a pair of corns, breeding them, and worrying about where to house everyone later.
I have three corns right now and I enjoy having them in display tanks. I've thought about the future and my needs for the future when I want to try breeding. I decided that before I decide to breed corns, I will make a rack to hold babies. I have a preference for being able to see the corns that I keep so I will probably have to manage large tanks, but again, that's my preference.
I am SO jealous of your experience with tools and carpentry. I grew up using other dangerous machines so I understand what you mean about using them since you were young. (My dad being a responsible hunter taught me gun safety, archery safety, and knife safety when I was 4 or 5) I'm taking woodshop next semester so I can learn how to handle power tools though so I can build racks and display cases.
Anyway, some people were jumping on you pretty quickly and its nice to see someone so young taking criticism and judgements with patience and understanding. Obviously people are worried about the health of an animal you will have for 15 years, but you seem to be thinking ahead and planning. Good luck!
Acutally, the first experience I had with a snake was a result of tools. I was banging rocks together and hitting them with a hammer.
