How often should I feed my baby?

So I finally got my picky eater to start eating. He has had his first shed and ate for his third time friday. I was curious on how often I should feed him every 7 days? Or every 5. I have been hereing mixed reports and he is still a very young corn too. Only about 3 months or so and still only eating 1 xs pinky due to his size and poor eating habit that I broke. Just curious.

Will he eat every 5 days?

He might he was pretty active at that point but I didn't try feeding him because I wanted to try and handle him a bit for once. Then I noticed he had shed on his tail stuck so I had to take care of that. I just feel also with feeding him every 5 days he will never get to be handled and get out of the tank if I have to leave him for 3 days to digest.

It's more important to get your picky eater *well* established than to handle him. The stress of handling could get him off feed again. I have had some flighty critters that won't eat if handled so some of them only start getting routine handling when they're almost on hoppers.

I don't handle my babies very often for the reason Shiari mentioned.
I'd focus on making sure he becomes an established eater before even considering regular handling, especially since he's proven to be a picky eater.

If your snake is willing, every five days.

Just so you know, not handing much until your snake is an established feeder should be no problem. I never handled mine much as tiny babies, preferring to let them digest fully. When I did handle them I kept it very short and gave them some of time to crawl around. Very little actual hand time.

yeah thats what I did the one time I took him out. Just sat on a chair and let him crawl around for about 10 minutes just to let him get out. I just like the idea of him being able to be out instead of every time I get him out (struggling to get him into his feeding container... he is a pain to get into a deli cup). He is eating though so that is a massive plus and he is still very active so I am assuming all is well in his world =D.

Sounds good. Continuing good wishes.

I do have another question though. Since he was so small when I got him, and he was such a picky eater (that was a great time... ) I have been feeding xs pinkies because of his size. He has eaten only 3 times consecutively. He is still pretty small due to that no eating stint.. I was wondering when I should bump up to normal pinkies. I know he has only eaten 3 times but I just dont want to stunt his growth.
