Ahh, such is the way of a baby: they eat, poo, and sleep...what a life!

George: Pregnant woman are not hormonal at all! I have been quite pleasant to be around. Just ask my husband, and he'll agree... if he knows what's good for him. :flames:

lol

Well, here in Aspen things are great. We blanked on daylight savings time, and got up an hour late yesterday, and it was a powder day too!! We were so disappointed in ourselves for missing 5 inches of fresh powder because we got on the slopes so late. We still found some powder, but most of it was broken up. It was fun anyway. And last night we FINALLY had a night with out another family coming over for dinner.

Well, today is my last day, and the skiing was fanominal. The mogals on the mounain we went to today were amazing. Anyway, now we've got one more familly comng over for dinner, and then I'm heading home

I had a great vacation, and now I get to go home and check on Raya, Flare, Aurora, and Archimedes. The first breeding of the season, and my first attempted breeding ever will be this week!! Can't wait to see how the breeding goes, but then I have to wait 3 MONTHS for hatchlings. I can't wait that long!

I dig this thread. It's cool to get a chance to see into people's lives instead of only talking about snakes with them.

As for how I'm feeling, I'm exhausted and sore. I thought I had the flu but it turned out to be more serious than that and I ended up in the hospital. So now I'm a little nervous about a possible surgery in my near future.

Oh and I also no longer like Kathy Love. One of my friends bought me her book to read while I was in the hospital and there were so many pictures of beautiful morphs that I just know I'm going to break my rule and buy more corn snakes. :(
*shakes fist at Kathy*...great book though!

I had a totally equine day! Didn't ride but went back to the Parelli basic ground work with my friend's ponies, she had another girl come around who has been on a taught course rather than working from the books and videos. She demonstrated and it was an absolute joy to see the ponies having fun. Then we went to see her 20 yr-old mare with her yearling and saw how beautifully mannered both mare and foal are due to her work with them. Lovely horsey day!

I use clicker training on my horses. No negative training for the rescue horse. He doesn't handle it well! Today will be my totally equine day...and a couple snake day. Going to ride, clean stalls and trim their feet. Got friends coming over to dinner and we're going to watch a Pete Ramey hoof trimming seminar that I TIVO'd on the RFD channel. If I get a chance I'm going to take out Fuego for some pictures and see if I can get ONE that I like of him! I also have to go buy a wedding gift for the neighbor's daughter....o.k....one thing I hate! Shopping!!

Ohh so you all like horses. Well guess where I spend yesterday from 9-5. The glue factory. LOL JK. Actually yesterday I went to my friends barn for a horse show. I didn't know you had to wait about 2 Horses in between your next class. That takes forever. It was fun, even though I missed basketball. I think I'm starting to get into horses more and more. :)

Not such a good couple of days - I feel utterly attrocious at the moment, and may well be about to die.

No, you can't have my snakes :grin01:

Dang!! I was hoping! Hope you feel better though....I'll have to take some pictures of the boys now that they are home. They are so hairy right now though....

I had a pretty excellent day. My porch lights have not done well in the sun. The sun damages plastic. Disintegrates it. So the front light went first- the entire support structure of the socket just crumbling away till all there was was a bulb in a socket hanging by corroded wires. Yes, this made me nervous. Especially when I would turn on the light and nothing would happen, but then I'd wiggle the dangling bulb and the light would come on.

I like my porch lights- they are on photosensors so they turn themselves off and on. I'm nervous alone at night. Someone tried to break into my house a couple years ago between when I left for work at 6:00 and when it got light out. So just leaving the lights off isn't an option.

A couple weeks ago I discovered the back porch light was in similar condition. No big deal, you say, just replace it, but I live in a mobile home, not a normal house with normal construction. Everything in a trailer is built cheaply and not the same as a "real" house. So yesterday I finally got up the nerve to unscrew the existing fixture and see what was under it, how it was mounted. Yay, it had a normal round box with the little slotted bar going across to mount the fixture on and normal wiring.

So I went to Home Depot and bought two $8 but pretty lights- didn't want to buy expensive ones till I knew they were actually going to fit on there and work. Turned off the power to the whole house, got the first one up in about 45 minutes, and the second one in about ten minutes! And they work!! I love not having to hire someone to do stuff like that.

Then I potted a big spineless cactus pad that someone had sent from California- future Desert Tortoise snacks. And two bushy palms for my patio.

And fed Choco. And watched Ghost World.

The bad news is Maizey regurged her Friday mouse last night. It was only a medium, but a big medium. Crap, that's the second time now. The first one was in January- too big. I guess I'm just going to have to stick to small. Luckily, I had Nutribac that I bought from Kathy Love at the Tampa show last weekend, so I put a pinch in Maizey's drinking water. Now she gets to wait ten days, and get a Nutribac mouse. It was her first mouse out of the batch I bought at the show, which I had separated into big, medium and small.

Maybe some gardening today. It's in the 40's right now, though.

Hope you feel better soon, Pliss.
'Grats on the diy, Nanci, hope Maizey recovers soon. Just took my dog for a walk and we've crashed on the sofa watching my hero Ray Mears for an hour. (Well Ellie was snoring and I was drooling, I love that man!)

I rode my horse but he was obnoxious! I'm afraid he's going to Alpo if he doesn't shape up!! :) Not really....er....hmmmm....Worked on the arena and trimmed both boys toes. Now I'm going...yuk....shopping!

Oh, the other thing I was really proud of accomplishing yesterday was repairing a really expensive bike pump!

Today, after spending a LONG time in cornsnake chat, I dragged myself out of the house to go buy a couple flowers and some ornamental ground covers, and ended up buying a pretty big magnolia tree and two really cool grasses and two herbs (wooly thyme and oregano) to plant in my tortoise walk. Great day!

Nanci

Great time in chat Nanci, lol.

After I left the chat, I ran out to the store to buy stuff to build shelfs on my wall. So i got back, cut the grass, then i put the shelfs together.
