They are 3 in a thing and the drawers are 24" by 25" and I was wondering if that size has enough floor space for 1 adult corn? Iknow I have asked questions like this before but I just say these today
 
I've looked at drawer systems similar to the one you've mentioned and I think they're hard to prove secure around the top. Also, when the drawer is open the snake can poke it's head up the back and if you're not super careful you could pinch or crush it....then again, you might be thinking of a totally different product to what I am. Legal requirements around here is that the enclosure should have a circumferance (sp?) equal to or greater than the snake's length. So a little better than 8 ft should be fine.
 
Usually a length of at least 30" and a height of around 12" will be sufficient for an adult.
 
Those drawer type containers at Target/Walmart...I thought it would be a great thing to house reptiles/mice in. They aren't secure at all. My mice escaped out of them. I wouldn't recommend attempting to use them for snakes. If my mice could get out, I'm sure a snake could!
 
I have had snakes escape from drawers I bought at target for quarantine purposes. Shame as they were a good size and easy to disinfect.
 
Great minds think alike!

I saw those and almost bought them, thought they would be great for snakes. Well, when I picked it up by the side I put pressure on the drawer and it pushed in easily! I realized there was no way I secure them well enough for my snakes. It would have been cool tho, if the plastic drawers weren't so flimsy.

wow i am breaking the law like crazy i thought a 20 g long was big enough now, you are telling us that a cornsnake must be house in an 8ft circular enclosure, wow im surre most people dont have enough space in their house for more than one or 2 snakes. i hope i am misunderstanding because if i am right in what i think you meant that is a stupid law.
 
wow , i just read susan, that you breed corns.... are you seriously telling us you have 8 foot circular enclosures for all your breeders??? i am just blown away by what you said, please tell me im mistaken, or you meant 8 inches and not feet
 
I'm not sure~ but I suspect Susan meant the circumference~ as in measure all the way around the cage~ my 20 long is 30" long X 13" wide. So I take the 30" long PLUS the 13" wide is 43"~ multiply by 2 (As in there is two 30" sides and two 13" sides) which is 86", divide by 12 equals 7.16 feet. I don't own any 7 foot long corn snakes~ so 20 long is plenty long according to the restrictions she posted.

The reason she posted a little over 8' being good is because of the demensions the original posted quoted. 25"X24". 25" plus 24" is 49", multiply by two so you get the circumference you get 98"~ divide by 12 to get the foot measurement and the circumference of the box in question is a little over 8 foot (8.16 feet)

On the original topic~ I looked at the drawer boxes two~ decided the would not be secure enough for an escape artist corn snake.
 
SO the size is ok if I could make it secure enough, am I correct? I think that I could make it secure with some 1/2" ply wood. I just need to know if the size is good. I can cut and glue and screw all I need

AHHA!!! thanks alot, i had no idea she went that deepinto math!LOL and sorry to you sue, i was trying to rack my brain and figure out why you inluded circumference, it all makes sense now thanks!
 
I highly doubt you would be able to make them secure unless you do some serious conversions. Some sort of screen will need to be attached on the top of each bin, which would make it difficult to access the occupants). Snakes/Mice can get out of these very easily. I've had it happen! :)

I'm not trying it yet, I am just wondering if its big enough. I will post the end results but I'm not going to buy them until I know if they are big enough
