One of the baby IJ's tagged me last night. She was not happy about going into the bag to go home...first she got the breeder a couple times, then the little IJ turned her attention on me.
Here's the bitemark today...it's a smiley face :)

Yes, IJ is Irian Jaya Carpet Python. :)

The little one is the girl that bit me. The pic of the two together
shows the huge size difference...they're sisters from the same clutch.
Sirona, the little one, wasn't fed as much as she should have been, so she's very small for a yearling. Fiore, (not mine) is a beast...she grew super fast & is about the size of a 2yr old, even though she's only a year old.
The owner did not power feed her & even took her to the vet, concerned that she was growing too fast.
They both came from pure IJ lines, so the yellow that the bigger one was completely unexpected. She's just a freak of nature...a gorgeous one at that.

how does this compare to a corn snake bite ? Mine hasn't bit me yet .

I have not been bitten by an adult corn, only babies, which do not really hurt.
Baby IJ bites do hurt a little bit, but not bad. It's like little needles. It also depends on if they "chew" as well.

Oh, I take that back. Kael, my LBR Miami male did get me, but it was more of a nip, not a full bite.

Ahahaha I joined the bite club today!

my new female Okeetee from Drizzt80 dosent Like me one bit! I changed her water today and she Nailed my arm, it felt like I was being attacked by a Tattoo gun! I yelped and accually bled! she struck at the glass two more times after that... I really dont think she likes me.

but I dont think she understands that her anger is going to stop me from handling her when shes done settling in.

Ouch-I've heard that some Okeetee's can be bad tempered...not all, but I've heard a few stories like yours.
How vicious! That's an adorable bite, I wish my bite marks were happy looking. Gorgeous snakes too!
Thank you :)
LOL-she's just a little hateling...I guess it's normal for IJ's to be feisty like this for the first 18months of their lives.
They settle down pretty quickly. They generally love people. One of the things I love about IJ's. :)

lol I seem to have all the evil temptered snakes, my tiny bloodred still strikes me, and Ive had her for a while now, shes on her 8th pinkie, my blizzard started out evil, now shes able to be handled, but does her best to get away from me.

my new male dosent strike at me, but he does the whole tail rattle, telling me he dosent like whats going on.. as for the female, I fed her today, thinking thats all she wanted, considering she missed her last feeding due to being shipped to me.

I have to say, im being a chicken chit and using a thin winter glove to stick my hand in there before I pick her up.. and im being.. extra careful.. Ive never seen corns as big as these, im Proud to have them, and hope they settle down soon.. its going to be a rocky 15-20 years if they dont.... ** sigh** I dont want to keep useing gloves to handle my new babies.

Hopefully they're calm down soon.
I have a Classic het bloodred male, who is feisty, feisty, feisty. LOL I hope he calms down. His Amel sister is calm. They're yearlings.

Lol yea, for some reason my all the bloodreds Ive had.. are really Feisty.. I know my first two Okeetees were vary sweet, but these two.. I may have to call them red and dragon. I know If he starts trying to eat me as much as she is, then They will be called red dragon. I mean, its scary at how her teeth stick on the glove.. and hes not happy either..
