Infertile egg question...

Parfait laid her clutch yesterday and there are 3 definite slugs in the bunch. One was loose but 2 are stuck in the big mass of eggs. Do I attempt to break the mass apart so I can remove them or just incubate the whole thing, bad eggs and all? Thanks!

It won't hurt the good eggs if you incubate the bad with them. And at this point, if you tried to pull them apart, you'd most likely damage the good eggs. So I would say just leave them.

Ok good...I will leave them. I think I kinda freaked a little when I read in Kathy's book that maggots can form on bad eggs?!? Ick! But they are in the incubator anyway, I don''t want to damage the good ones.

eggs

I agree. Leave them alone. The bad eggs will most likely dry up even in the substrate. They wont contaminate the others. Bury them under the vermiculite and flies wont be able to find the bad ones. They should be fine. Good luck.
