So the thing I've been dreading since Friday took effect at work today- they unleashed the Super Filter. Previously, we had been blocked from websites about drugs, alcohol, firearms and porn. But today they blocked everything except health, medical, travel and news. So of course cs.com was blocked. But not my personal e-mail, windstream, which I access at work through the windstream website. And not roombareview.com! Or Bank of America, or anything to do with weather. Or the Source's iSpy feed. But all I actually had to do to get around that was call the IT department and ask to have a password to sign in under a personal account, rather than the generic radiology account. There wasn't the Spanish Inquisition that I had feared about why did _I_ need to access anything restricted. Of course my account will be monitored, but as long as I don't access anything that was previously unallowed: drugs, porn, etc., I should not get in trouble. But now I have to log off and on all the time if I actually want to use the Internet unrestricted...(People in the whole hospital think that if there is a workstation, they automatically can just sit right down and do whatever they want, like someone from some whole other department will walk past my workstation and sit down and get on the Internet. I don't think that's right.)
Anyway- we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I guess I just don't get the point.
