Introducing Bacon!

He is very nice:dancer: I have seen him up at Seans'. It has been so cold here in Colorado shipping has been almost halted. Glad he made it in great shape.

He's my second snake from Sean. The first- my first store-bought snake ever, was Inez the aberrant Nelson's. Couldn't be happier with her. Except for her personality! I guess I find that amusing, though. It's dangerous to go cornsnake window shopping.

I got Bacon out for a little CSI Miami tonight. He is not impressed. Obviously a breeder's snake. But after I put him back, even though I haven't seen hide nor hair of him since he got here, he's been cruising his bin, checking things out. I just caught him going for a swim! I wonder if he's ever had a dish big enough to get into. Feeding day tomorrow- cross your fingers!

He stayed out for a while, glued to the top of his bin. When I opened the bin and invited him out, he crawled out to me and stayed in my hand!

The CSI I just watched was about crocodiles with microchips with Jeff Corwin- pretty cool.

Nice addition with that guy. It'll definitely be fun watching those eggs pip!

BTW you really need to clean out his water bowl...there are bugs in it!!

I thought, "Geez Nanci! You've done this long enough to know cornsnakes don't eat bugs!!" :grin01:

Bacon had his first meal last night! I guess he'd been brumating for Sean, so this was his first meal in a long time! It's such a relief when the first meal is successful.

I picked up an adult from Sean on Saturday (had to cross country ski to his house) who was also sleeping and last night he ate also and it sure is a wonderful to see them grab that mouse the first time.
John :grabbit:

You took your new snake cross country skiing?? Nice! You have to get them used to the pet life right away!

I've been talking to Sean about Mr. Bacon who is no doubt confused about all the attention he receives as a pet. For instance, he got to come out and watch some CSI Miami last night. He's getting much less flighty. After I put him back, I guess he was too wound up to go back to sleep. He was roaming all over his bin. So I opened the bin to see what he would do, and he came climbing right out! Then he got to watch another episode. I have pics- I'll have to get them DLed tonight. It's a pain since my laptop croaked.

Very nice looking boy! I got my normal motley from Sean at an expo in Denver a few years back, and I cannot recommend him enough! Sweet pick-up!
