Introducing Ruby: Bloodred Stripe

Nanci

Alien Lover
Het snow! Third and finally we have Miss Ruby. (The future Mrs. Pepper!) She had a triangle head in her For Sale picture, and she had a triangle head when I unpacked her! It's apparently stuck like that. My Little Red Rattlesnake weighed in at 10 grams, but she feels much bigger, and she is very strong and muscular and has a nice tight grip!

This baby pretty much struck non-stop. Kind of reminds me of Jasmine, my first bloodred, who has thankfully mellowed out a little! Sorry- I couldn't get a dorsal pic- she wouldn't relax out of cobra mode...

Here she is in her viv- you can get a glimpse of her beautiful vanishing stripe pattern. I just love her markings.

Thanks for looking!

It's amazing the difference between a 6g hatchling and a 10g one, you can really see her weight. Too bad she didn't want to give you any dorsal shots but I love her ventral.

gorgeous little cobra Nanci ;)

She looks feisty..lol..and fun!

Congrats on all your new babies!

That is just too funny that she wouldn't relax out of that pose! I am sure you will win her over though.

I love that puffed-up, pissed-off look! It really does make her look bigger than 10g. She's beautiful, Nanci. One of my favorite morphs.

Huh, thats a strange shape for it's head.
Its a nice snake nevertheless
Corns, babies particulary, will flatten out the back side of their heads so as to appear to be a pit viper. They rattle their tails for the same reason. Of course it's all a bluff, but if it gives them an extra second to make a hasty exit...

Nanci - that IS one flat head. I just hear Cartman in my head, "I'm seriously, you guys! I'm a rattler. Respect my Authoritay!"

Isn't that adorable? That's what snakes do to threaten enemies. I guess we're supposed to think- "Hey! Triangular head! That snake must be venomous, I guess I'll leave it alone then!"

They do look menacing that way, as menacing as a baby corn can get anyway, LOL. The only time Flash has done the head flattening and tail rattling is during feeding time. Once he did it while he was circling the mouse and another time he did it when my step son walked up to his feeding container and startled him.

She has a little attitude, doesn't she?

That last pic is priceless! I love when they do the flattened head!

Star has never bit me or rattled her tail at me, or flattened her head, good thing cause I would have thought that something was wrong with her lol :)

Gorgious snake Nanci and sounds like one healthy attitude!!!lol She looks a little bigger then ten grams in those pictures...wow!

She is a beauty Nanci, oe of my new ones te hypo is a tail rattler it's very funny. I have to ask if that is a typo 10 grams, seems very small, my new guys are both 55 grams.
